to do what he was hired to do. This means patience and a little forgiveness for the crap he is going to have to do and we are going to have to watch happen.

And I am not talking rebuild. CGC is at the beginning of one of the most extreme overhauls I have ever heard of a major program or school go through. This is going to be painful.

But throwing him, his decisions, his style, and all that goes with it under the bus after game 3 is unacceptable considering what we are trying to do here.

I get that some of you wanted to stay with the option, but is it too much to ask to get behind the coach and support him, at least for the sake of our program and our school? Asinine polls of "Monken or Collins" go far beyond the pale when that decision has already been made and we are in it for a minimum of 4 years.

I'm giving Collins a chance. Mainly, because like you said, I don't have a choice but what are your expectations?

His plan seems to be win by geting better athletes. That's great and we can all agree that is needed. Question is, will it work?

I have a hard time believing we will ever recruit at the level of the top schools. Has tech ever signed a 5 star? I could be wrong, but I don't think Calvin was rated as a 5 star. Clemson, bama , ugag and the other top schools have them on the bench not even getting playing time.

People like to rave about gaileys recruiting but he was just over 500. People öööö on Johnsons recruiting. He was just over 500. Tech has always been tech with some good and some bad years mixed in.

With the coaching I've seen so far, I have a hard time convincing myself that anybody can recruit good enough for us to be much better than 500.

I hope I'm wrong but it looks like if Collins does a good job, we will be gailey like again. Consistently half ass.

I get the concern. What do I expect? I dont know how high we can go. Much hay is being made of Collins hanging his hats on getting great recruits, but considering the system he is going for I have to say that he has almost absolutely nothing to work with right now on Offense, so his potential to perform better with "better recruits" is relative. Almost any sizable 2-3 star lineman will be better than what we have now for pass protection.

I can agree that he doesn't have the players for what he says he wants to do right now. I understand that the already weak oline is even weaker now.

That didn't change the piss poor coaching we saw yesterday.

Step one is winning games with what you have. Period. The defense was gassed late in the game. Burn some clock on offense. I'm not saying come out under center and run the option (although that could have been funny) but slow things down and let the defense get a breather. Run Oliver and Mason. Screw showcasing what they want to be in three years when you are losing to citadel. Show that you can win the game.

You want to show what you are trying to do, then run that with the wrong players and go down in flames. Don't try to win the game half the plays and show the future in the other half. Especially in the same ööööing drive.

JfC give it up. He deserves to eat öööö this week and our fan base would be garbage if we didn't feed it to him. I'll take a million pissed off Tech fans over all the alums that are resigned to us sucking all the time regardless of who our coach is.

It's all on him now. All we can do is show up.

So many mistakes on the game, hard to tell exactly where to begin. You know we can pick apart all aspects of the game that had a part in playing our demise, but the coach is in charge, so it’s all on him. I don’t understand a lot of the decisions. I am sure he understands his mistakes and hopefully he can address them. But I give him a few passes for being in deep in an impossible situation. Yesterday was a loss we thought we would win. I don’t see any more sure wins. I didn’t before the season started, either.

öööö off. How long have you been watching football? Because no one is complaining about being bad this year. We are complaining about an asshat that just lost to a winless Citadel team.

Dumbass
I have been watching football for about 40 years.

I have seen quite a bit of bitching the past 24 hours not necessarily isolated to Citadel. Why don’t you read all the threads before posting in ignorance and then reverting to childish name calling?

The jury is out on him. So many, many bad things went wrong yesterday. He said in his presser to "blame him". Yep, I do.

King Geoffrey did some serious choking yesterday. We'll see in two (long) weeks if any adjustments are made against Temple.

if he trots out that asinine 2-QB-Switching bullshit one more game, it'll be a pretty negative indicator of things to come. No team has ever been successful doing that bullshit. If he still doesn't know who his best QB is to start games after yesterday, he'll need to have his head examined.
