Yeah, I though this was the best take in the thread so far:

As we saw on Saturday, we are in pretty good shape at RB, as we should be given our previous offense. What's important is locking down the big boys on both lines. Would be nice to get a big name RB recruit, but won't the end of the world if we don't.

I'm just glad to be back in the hunt for guys like this, it's been awhile.
Partially agree. No one player changes the program unless they're a once in a generation talent, Heisman trophy winner, etc. which doesn't happen till they're enrolled and playing.

However, I will say that Gibbs is exactly the type of kid we've had little to no shot at for decades in the state of Georgia. Being in on him early and garnering an early commit was great, but he has the chance to be a 5 star, top 5-10 player coming out of the state from an area that Tech historically doesn't recruit overly well. The big boys are and will continue to come after him because he deserves it! Will he be the savior of the program? Highly doubtful, as we said above since individual players seldom are in football. Would his continuing commitment and signing with Tech have a big impact for us? Absolutely. Any one player backing out of a commitment wouldn't be the end of the world, but this is exactly the type of guy we need to see Collins be able to land. We got the first half right getting on him early and getting him committed. He's the type of talent that it doesn't matter how loaded you are at the position, you still take him if you can get him.

I think Gibbs will have a tough choice to make. Obviously he has the offers to go to Bama or Ohio State, maybe UGA? But he will face some tough competition there, and might not become the guy there. At Tech he can definitely be the guy, maybe even as a Freshman. But will we have the OL to give him the chance to shine?

Our improvements in the running game against Miami, if they continue the rest of the season, will be a big help to our recruiting of him.

Bama and OSU will offer him playing time his 1st year--- and then "change their minds" and Redshirt him.
It depends how much he values education and wants to stay around home. The University of Alabama is an absolute joke of an "Institution of Higher Learning". Kennesaw College is literally Yale or MIT, by comparison. And Ohio State isn't much better.

At Ohio st you can take most your classes online and not even have to be around campus. They don’t go there to play school

. If I had to bet, I would say he’s not going to end up at Georgia Tech. Something I’ve posted on multiple team sites is he is a homebody. He’s very close to his family and with Georgia Tech being in Atlanta that definitely helps to keep him home.
He's not going to end up at GT, bit he's a homebody which will help keep him at GT? Wut?

And UGAg is further away from Dalton, Georgia than Knoxville, Tn. Dalton is NOT close to Athens. GT is the closest to home.

His parents ought to try to drive to the hellhole of Athens on several gamedays. What a ööööty drive

I think that’s a case of the writer getting his thoughts and phrasing crossed up. Sounds like e wants to say don’t think he’s going to change from Georgia Tech combined with thinking he’s going to Georgia Tech.

No, he's made it clear before that he doesn't think Gibbs will end up at GT.
