#UGAvsGT Collins Postgame Presser

Question from Rod:
“Can you give the fans at least a 50K foot review of what areas need fixing the most? Like, what’s your plan?”

“No. It’s a secret.”

For someone who prides himself as a salesman, that’s - like - a really really bad answer.

He‘s answered questions the same way for 3 years. He’s never and will never call out his coaches or players publicly. While it creates a boring and predictable interview, I can respect it.

I didn't listen very closely, but did he really say that? WOW. He just has no regard for the fans whatsoever.

He said it in more words. Mentioned names of the reporters who have asked it, termed it as not wanting to "point counterpoint" things, etc. Basically didn't have an answer, except the quip "nobody is more frustrated than me."

"I don't want to talk about the future right now because there are some things we're going to fix in the immediacy[sic], but there's a lot to be excited about"
Collins quote: "I don't want to talk about the future right now because there are some things we're going to fix in the immediacy[sic], but there's a lot to be excited about"

No, there is not a lot to be excited about. Period.
Clearly this guy has his own reality.

A plan to fix things does not necessarily involve calling out coaches or players. That might be implied in his response, but as a used car salesman, he can do better than that.

He keeps saying the same words over and over, but the context keeps making them worse and worse. It's like a weird poem.

More than the game, this was what I was waiting for to determine my personal position on Collins going forward. It has less to do with whether he will fire enough of the right people tomorrow than it does whether he can demonstrate that he actually wants my support. From his answers, it seems that he is utterly indifferent towards it, at best.

At worst, I guess it is worth saying, it seems that he is offended by the idea that he should even have to earn my support. Tech has my support forever, but Geoff Collins is not Georgia Tech and right now he seems more like a vaguely antagonistic and self-interested obstacle for Tech to overcome than its leader. He personally does not have my support to remain as Tech's coach, and he won't earn back in scripted videos or social media posts what he lost when repeatedly given the chance to speak his mind.

yeah the guy really doesn't seem to give a öööö about the fans. It's like he knows he's locked in.
