Just taking an objective look at offenses he has coordinated in the nfl. Wtf are we doing here. Please turn it down Goose.

Houston 2015: 21+ points per game (21/32)
Houston 2016: 17+ points per game (28/32)
So far Miami 2021: 19+ points per game (24/32)

A problem with looking at it this way is that it assumes all NFL teams are equal. How good were the teams when he took them over? An up-and-comer isn't going to get a job as OC with the Buccaneers coaching Tom Brady.

I haven't followed Godsey as I don't really care about the pros, but if we are spending 800k or more then my first take would be a known quantity at the college level. Godsey seems like a big unknown at this point.

Please explain what the ‘Friedgen’ offense is, and what has Godsey been running during his career?

Friedgen ran a very multiple offense from under center. It had traditional veer/option concepts, run and shoot concepts, power concepts, etc.

Godsey has only been an OC at one point in his career. Those teams had pocket passers that operated from the gun.

Godsey would be a huge flier given that he is an unproven entity as an OC. It would be the first time in his career he really ran an offense completely

Couple of things:

1) Given that it seems sure we are keeping Key and Choice this is likely the best option. Most OCs are going to want their own guys. It seems we aren’t going that route.

2) If he had no connections to GT then most would think it was incredible that we are getting interest from an NFL OC. We might get someone like Goose; we ain’t getting someone like Leftwich

3) Except for Mullen everyone is a “flyer” of one sort or another.

4) Not saying I love it but it isn’t worse than anything else I’ve heard. I assume Mullen is not possible.

The reason I don’t like this hire is because there are too many friends in the staff. A problem we have right now is a lack of accountability. This is something that happens in organizations that become too fraternal. It is a major concern for me. I also think he’s bounced around as an OC because he can make the claim he was Tom Brady’s QB Coach. I just hope he doesn’t give me more reason to like the O’Leary gang less than I already do right now.

Changed my mind to matt mumme or zack kittley I think we may need to go air raid at Tech.

Sources say Lane Kiffin has all but signed a contract to be our new OC.
