Chip Long - New OC

Yeah, you’ll have to download all the twitter posts about a coach. Then you assign values for words as tags. Then you scrub the entire days for those tags and calculate values for each tweet. Then you can compare it to coach’s record afterwards. Teradata Vantage can do all that.

I've got access to that for work. I wonder how mad they'd get at me.

On the one hand, the people who know the coach better are more likely to have an accurate assessment, on the other hand, the people who have more irrational dislike of someone are proportionally likely to express their pleasure at a departure.

For player transfers I'd almost expect the effect to have negative significance, because we always tend to downplay transfers out, "didn't need him, didn't fit the system, etc". I wonder if any of that is typical of coach hires.
Yeah, but if for example Oregon fans are disparaging about christobal they are bitter and talking out their ass. I think record or recruiting is easy to tell it apart

He didn’t get shut out twice in a row so I’m willing to give him a shot. Just a one year thing anyway.

this is the dude who was an analist at Tenn b4 tulane.
isn't he supposedly bringing a UT QB transfer with him?

This is a higher profile hire than Patenaude. He’s apparently known for being a hard ass which is something we desperately need on this team. I’m going to support this hire. Let’s see if they bring in a new qb coach and get those OL and QB transfers for next year. Then we might just be ok.
So you think he can scream our OLine & TEs into playing better?

Why didn't his hard ass methods help Tulane avoid being 2-10 last season?

The kind of crap that gullible saps like you fall for and confuse with good coaching is comical.

You want coaches that are cast by Movie directors, not real coaches that Teach and get the max from their Players.

I wouldn't be surprised to find that different fan bases had different levels of significance. Maybe fanbase size would also influence that.

I don’t take advice from uga trolls on whom to hire for Tech.

We’ve fired 3 coaches and hired one. I’d really like a true DC as one of the remaining hires. Not a fan of Collins calling defensive plays.
I think that is the other part of the frustration here. That this was likely the only coordinator hire we are going to make, so people hoped for more.

Well, Miami is about to pay $8M annually for their coach. We just don’t shop on the same aisle as our peers. You’re going to pay more for a coach that doesn’t have any baggage. It doesn’t mean they aren’t solid for us.
With no AD at this time and still has another Head Coach so 2 head coaches no AD and people think we are messed up. People the Maimi program is really fu*k up and who is running it? ( I know no one cares about Maimi but lets give Chip Long a chance before we hang him

Sometimes it is more about the Jimmies and Joe's than Xs and Os. Tulane isn't known for being able to recruit at a high level.
