Someone is about to throw a lot of $$$

I'd sell it to him like this: Staying might not get you the most money next season but could get you the most money long term, because you're set up for success that'll get you hype and potentially drafted high.
- System you know
- Players that you have experience with
- Continuity of coaches
- Great OL talent already here and coming in
- You're the guy, no one to beat out

That's the purely financial argument at least. I think other things matter too like team loyalty and college legacy...

I could see Oregon being the highest paying, best fit, and likely suitor.
As you said, he would just be another Bo Nix, Dillon Gabriel, Next,.........
It really comes down to what he wants his legacy to be.
I'm sure he won't be hurting financially if he stays here while cementing his LEGEND status.
And a potential future coaching slot, which I think is where his heart takes him.

I will be very surprised if Haynes King is not our Heisman Candidate, starting QB next season.
I won't be surprised if Haynes King is the Georgia Tech Head Football Coach in a couple of decades.
You heard it here first.

I don't think he's going to get as big an offer at as good of a school as people seem to think. He played a hell of a game against U[sic]GA, obviously, but other than that he did not have a great year throwing the ball.

He barely went downfield all season (hence the super high completion percentage and lack of picks), whether due to injury or gameplan.

I'm confident he'll be back next season. And I'm confident he'll have a much better season.

This December 2023 article makes me think it's either Tech or the NFL. Talks about how hard it was to leave A&M.

I’d say he’s worth a million bucks, but I’m not the one giving up the million.

I agree — he's a great fit for us, but I'm not sure he has the kind of elite arm talent the Oregon's of the world will be looking to shell out big money for.

Technically other schools can’t contact King unless he enters the portal. I’m sure all of the schools out there are good, play by the rules folks so we’ll be fine.
We don't play by those rules, either.

I'm not really concerned with King going anywhere. He seems like he genuinely loves Tech, CBK and being one of us.

Teams will undoubtedly back channel and "tamper" but he's a good kid and has a good thing going here.

He had 3 turnovers and took 1 sack in 10 games; GT went 7-3 in those games. I think he’d do well on the open market.

All the players have agents now for NIL deals. No one has to contact the player directly.
It's the same thing technically, illegal contact with the player or players representative. Irrespective, it doesn't matter, obviously nobody is enforcing the rules or guarding the hen house currently regarding poaching, NIL, and meddling. If enough blue bloods get hurt by it, then things will change. When SMU steals Arch Manning because they have the FY money to actually do it, you'll see some crying for enforcement.

I'd guess we keep him. He seems like the kind of guy who truly loves Tech, and I wouldn't be surprised if avenging the UGA game plays a big factor in his return.

I don't know... I listen to those post-Mutt game comments, and I think he's gone. I know a lot of people disagree. I hope I'm wrong.
