Someone is about to throw a lot of $$$

I don't know... I listen to those post-Mutt game comments, and I think he's gone. I know a lot of people disagree. I hope I'm wrong.
I have a Mutt friend who texted me immediately after the game to ask if Key was headed to UNC or FSU.
Those people don't have more inside info on our players than we do, and are just trying to speak a false narrative in to existence.
After setting that Mutt friend straight on Coach Key, he simply texted:
"I miss Geoff."

Mutts would pay his moving expenses to leave GT. Not gonna happen.

He misspelled "Goff"

I expect GT will be willing to pay King $1M+, but that may not be enough. I believe we paid Singleton $600K this year and that was not enough to keep him.

Anyone thinking King won’t be sought after by major programs for big money is kidding themselves. I think he is staying but he could probably have his pick of top tier programs to transfer to if he wanted to.
We need to make it worth his while to stay. A short term payday with LONGTERM benefits for the program. If you are a top producer, you get rewarded. We need to fund The Tech Way to provide the cashola necessary to compete. We just paid a guy who hasn't played a single down $800K. King should be getting at least double that.

Isn’t college football so much more fun now?

Imagine Joe Hamilton going into his senior year and having no idea if he was our guy or not.

No thank you, NIL. Your world is garbage.
The thing that makes college football different from the NFL and other professional leagues, IMHO, is the personal investment the fans have with the school. I gave blood, sweat, and tears to GT, and so GT is MY team. The Falcons just play in my city.

The less I feel like the players on the team share that same love and commitment and investment, the less I care about the sport. I was feeling that good old feeling about this team a little at the end of the season (UATW), but it’s quickly evaporating now that the money chasing has started.

Maybe the open portal is a good thing, to allow players to improve their personal (need to be near family) or professional (never going to start here, want to try something different) situations without penalty. But combining that with unrestricted NIL so that any player above mediocre can be a pure mercenary results in some bullshit that’s going to drive a lot of fans away, and then where’s all that money going to come from?

Somebody has opened the wallet at H - MF - K.
For $1 million in NIL.

And it was Ma Tech.
He's staying.

Doesn’t King only have one year of eligibility left?

If so, I would think that diminishes his value. Despite the portal, there’s still a learning curve that he won’t have remaining at Tech.

The last two Oregon QBs have been one and done.
