Wrong. College football is stronger than ever. Everyone can now buy players legally and the portal has helped move talent from the 3 deep to starters elsewhere. The SEC schools hate all this because their major advantage of under the table money is gone.
With NIL, the portal, and an expanded playoff the sport is entering its golden era where every team has hope. Look at GT. 3 years ago we were a dead and dying program. Now, we bought a 2nd string QB from Texas A&M via the portal, we signed our first ever 5 star due to NIL, and our fanbase is excited and united for the first time in a long time. And this is happening at a lot of mid level programs who are increasing their talent pool and winning more games. Don’t let the woe is me crowd from the SEC and ESPN twist it. UGA went from beating us 45-0, which could have been 80-0, just 3 years ago to beating us in 8 overtimes. Our talent has increased 3 fold and their talent and depth has stepped back big time because no 4 or 5 star wants to sit for 3 years. The portal is the biggest gift to GT football in decades.
