The pecking order is by payout, not whether people want to travel there.

I also keep repeating for good measure that you CAN fly to within an hour of Shreveport for about the same price as Dallas (Longview, TX.) That is not that far as some city airports are that far from downtown anyway.

Wondering why mapquest says it is a 10-11 hour drive and GTAA is claiming it is an 8 hour drive on the website.;)

I guarantee you, barring weather and construction, that I can make it from Kennesaw to Shreveport in ~8 hrs :biggthumpup:

Take that back, you need AT points.

Its to keep the locals from buying them up I think.

But you do not need to be a season ticket holder, you pretty much just need to have bought any ticket in your name through GT ever.

Correct.

If you read the statement on the website and do the Boolean math then they say that anyone more than 60 miles from Shreveport OR has AT points is eligible. But they say it in a double-negative way.

I don't want to wager but I don't think we end up selling 5k unless the GTAA or some corporation buys up a bunch to give to underprivileged children. I hope you're right though.
 
I passed Shreveport on I20 once. I have never felt more depressed in my life. It wasn't the city in itself, but I20 past the Dallas area until the Atlanta area is just utter ****.

I did have a reservation at the Comfort Inn, but cancelled to stay at Boomtown. Can't pony up the $250 a night they want at the Horseshoe.

P.S. - I just tried to get another room at Boomtown and they are now booked solid. Have seen the same thing all night looking at hotels. Tell me Tech people don't travel.
