Stephen Hill just declared for the NFL draft.

He has great size and I think he will impress the scouts in the combine.

What mock draft has that?

I can make write a mock draft too.

1. Colts: Pick 05GTCorndog
Height: 6ft3in
Weight: 205lb
Position: Monday Morning QB
Strengths: None
Weakness: Many.

I aspire to be 205. Other than that, we have similar measurables. What's your 40 time? I can down one in 3 minutes...

Best wishes to Stephen. I hope he is successful at whatever he attempts. If we are worse off without him, then we need to be recruiting better.

The thing is WR is one of the positions where they can actually test your skills and game abilities to some extent. If he winds up with butter fingers in the catching drills, he's done.

LOL, seriously? We were throwing the ball effectively in this last game and we still threw it, what, 17 times?

I'm not surprised he declared and I think you all will be surprised when he's drafted by a team (I'm going to guess 3rd round) and makes it.

the dude had almost 900 yds and if he would have caught the ones he should have he would have had over 1000yds

this is the same offense that got Thomas drafted in the 1st round throwing the EXACT SAME AMOUNT

He seemed to be making some progress and one more year at the college level would have helped IMO

Did I miss something? Did we beat Georgia in the last six weeks?

I'm sure you didn't miss anything that happens here, since you average 18.6 posts per day.

To underscore the awesomeness of this number: Beej, who is the undisputed post count champion at 28,000, posts just 8.7 times per day (about the same as me), and BOR, OP of this thread and esteemed (although MEDIOCRE) high-profile poster posts a whopping 3.25 posts per day.

Heh, BOR posts about 20% as often as you. And yet BOR posts are far more memorable, and your ---- is just stale retartness.

So, did I miss something, or are you just another dumbass who needs to pursue other interests?

Imagine what would happen to his draft status with VAD LEE throwing to him next year. Big mistake. Can he come back next year if he doesn't sign an agent?

Honestly they won't worry too much about his hands if he tests great at the combine physical drills.

I don't know why people are surprised that he left for the NFL, didn't he have like a 1.5 GPA?

He'll be drafted in the 2nd round... by the Broncos, who need another option WR...

Hill has had the body language that he was upset that he wasn't putting up D. Thomas-like numbers...and probably felt he wasn't getting D. Thomas-like targets. In the bowl game the announcers even said he went up to Johnson to talk to him about something...

I liked Hill, I think he has potential, and will get drafted. He's been working towards a career as an NFL WR for a long time now, and he feels he can do a better job on his own, than he can at GT. As long as Uzzi stays...I'm good.

He will be sorely missed though most likely...unless one of our receivers can stiff-arm DB's to the ground on those quick passes, which is unlikely...Also he really did a mean job of blocking downfield.

However he did cost us the UVA win so whoever said we wouldn't be 8-4 without him is correct in my opinion. We would've been 10-3 with a win over Auburn in the CFA bowl  (J/K Stephen, good luck in the draft)

You got to feed a guy like this and keep him happy. Hill was visibly pissed off the last few games because he was not getting the ball. He'll get picked in round 4 or 5 and get a couple million bucks for his rookie contract- cant blame him for leaving.

A 4th round pick doesn't even get $200,000, much less a couple of million. Furthermore, all NFL contracts are not guaranteed. He's probably looking at a minimal signing bonus at most.

The league minimum is going to be $390,000 next year for a rookie.

-10% off the top to his agent
-40% in various taxes
-200k for his bling and keeping up with his higher paid "colleagues"
= -5k next year

I am sure that money will last him a lifetime.

I was contesting the fact that 1992 was saying that a 4th round pick (which is still a mid-round pick) wasn't going to get even $200,000 next years. UFA's will make almost twice that.

If Hill goes in the 4th round he should push around $600,000 - $700,000 in salary from very limited research. To your point he could be an idiot and completely blow it, but let's not pretend that this amount of money isn't very enticing to a 20-21 year old and if managed well (huge IF) could be life changing if made over a several year career.
