I hate Bark Madley

:bowrofl:

As for the couple of sidewalk fans who actually posted, why are you a fan? Is it a family connection?

I am a sidewalk fan. Grandfather was also a Tech fan but he passed when I was pretty young so that wasn't but just a small part of it. I actually watched both teams in the early 80's and didn't necessarily have a favorite team. But after a while, I grew old of the "woof woof crowd" that made up most of my family and friends.

I liked the fact that Tech was always seen as the underdog against UGAy, so I became a diehard follower of the Jackets at about age 15. I've relished every opportunity (though not as many as I would like) to watch the Jackets take down the leghumpers from then on. No tears taste as sweet as puppy dawg tears...

Personally wouldn't mind you leaving the fan base. Any person that considers switching from his team due to bad finishes is a ööööö. Also I wouldn't have to look at your signature. (worst night of my life).

Don't let the door hit you where the good lord split you.

Harsh.

Just wait until we start off the season with a few wins and Vad Lee is playing really well. Schultz and Bradley will be talking about how good we are and how bright our future is. It's just how these columnists are. They are always so far one way or the other. Go back and look at what they were saying after we destroyed Virginia. They've blasted UGA in the past too but when they are good they are the greatest team ever.

Why shouldn't Georgia "win" signing day? The school is vastly easier to get into and matriculate through - plus, given the arrest records of the foundlings St. Mark takes in with the nation's "No. 1 recruiting class," there also isn't much emphasis on the character of student-athletes brought into the fold.
Tech's standards are higher and anyone who knows PJ knows how high his standards are. If he didn't think he could compete for championships at Tech, he wouldn't have come.
Besides, I get the feeling PJ may send Bradley a little note:
"Dear Mark,
Why don't you write about something you know something about? When I determine what that is, after ample thinking about it with my foot on your throat, I'll let you know.
Love, Paul."

(FWIW, Bradley thinks he's the pre-eminent college basketball mind in the country.)

I'm a GT fan by default. My dad went to GT so I grew up going to most home games and a few games in Athens when GT was the visiting team. My dad died a few years ago, but I'm glad I spent a lot of time with him and his former classmates on Saturdays. GT wasn't that good in the 70's and 80's but at least they played real competition most Saturdays.

I went to Georgia Southern (when CPJ was the OC under Erk). If they were a BCS program with more coverage, TV time, and if I lived closer so I could go to games more often I'd follow them instead of GT.

The other factor is that I can't stand UGA, which makes GT the logical choice. I'm a fan of whoever is playing UGA.

In the last two years I've considered making a switch, as GT isn't headed in the right direction to compete on a national level. It's not much fun to spend lots of time and money (and emotional investment) on a program that doesn't match my expectations.

Wow, what a douche.

 Go cheer for the Vols, you ööööö. You would have offed yourself in the mid-90's.

Nah, the logical choice is Vandy. Underdogs like us to the Vols, and he can be a Vol hater just like he's an Dawg hating GT fan.

Go Commodores!

Wow, what a douche.

Why should anyone pretend they're happy when they're not? It's like staying married to the bitch from hell when divorce is an option. It doesn't make sense. But I suppose some folks don't mind supporting and rooting for mediocrity. It just doesn't make sense to me.

You're not a fan then.

I have never considered "switching" whatever the hell that means.

I think the appropriate term is fairweather.

Or it's like your beloved wife gets cancer and instead of supporting her through it, you divorce her and start dating a young slut who doesn't give a öööö about you. You're like the douches I work with that cheer for whoever happens to be good.
Seriously, go cheer for someone else. I find it hard to believe that someone who supposedly lived through the 80's and mid-90's teams can be so disenchanted by the program. 7-6 ain't cutting it, but even in my 30 years, I've seen a whole lot worse...and I've never thought about cheering for another team.

Lol, we are hilarious. We tell everyone to stop being a fan and then cry about attendance, öööö on every coach and recruit and then cry when we lose games, send vitriolic emails to our AD and then PMS when he leaves us for clemson, say everyone who disagrees with you is part of the problem and then threaten to stop buying tickets. I have to keep telling myself that the greater tech fan community is more level headed, because if we at ST ran this thing there would pretty much be no hope.

You got that right!

So why do you do it if it doesn't make sense?

I stopped reading Mark Bradley and the AJC 7 years ago. Havent missed it at all. Google News is all I need.

I did read the linked article. Bradley is a hack who loves to sling mud at Tech. (Refers to Georgia's stadium and Tech's Pew's!) Tech and Georgia are different schools with different missions, Bradley knows that, Bradley also knows that he couldnt have graduated from Tech.

To his credit, I too wonder when we will beat Georgia again. I hope its next year. But, in the interim, I will continue to forget about the AJC, Atlanta sports radio, etc... try it, you will be glad you did.

If Mark's blogs arent responded to or referred to, he will have to change his tactics, or get fired !

You can bet your god-öööö ass that i'll be going to games at 11-0, 6-5, or 0-11.

I am curious how many "hated" him when he predicted we would win the NC vs uconn?

Some of the so called GT fans need to learn that winning in the ACC is secondary to beating ugag, and those that don't put that as our # 1 priority should go root for the Evening School of Commerce.

"but we can't recruit wah wah wah"

Then (1) stop giving any money to the academic side, (2) grow a set, (3) demand greatness for the Entire school - not just to the Hillnerds., (4) play a better schedule to prepare for what we must do, (5) demand our HFC recruits up to the level of our competition (our real Comp) by using all the ships and by recruiting even after someone makes a meaningless commit.

We get plenty of good coverage when we do our part.
