News seems to say if we win UNC and VT, we will be ranked in order to drive a higher profile Miami game.

Trust me on this one: gtrower is only hedging his bets so he's not disappointed. In his heart of hearts he knows we're going to win all 4 games.

My question is this: If we beat UNC at home by more than South Carolina (who apparently is a clear cut top 10 team after beating Vanderbilt by 10 and losing to UGA) are we a top 10 team?

At this rate, I don't even know if we'll be top 10 if we go undefeated through Miami. We just seem to have very little traction in the polls.

Personally, I think Miami beats our ass in Miami. We will beat VT and UNC however.

Why? Their packed house of loud fans? Lol. I'm betting there were more people at the Tech spring game than will be at the Miami game. Their fans are a joke.

Their D has had our number lately. The one positive in our ridiculous schedule is that even though VT is on short rest, that does give us a couple extra days rest before Miami.

Unfortunately, their fans don't play the game. Their players do.

I never thought we'd be top 10 after Miami. Probably would need to be 8-0 to hit Top 10 (at least 7-0).

Top 25 if undefeated going into Miami (around 22)
Top 20 if we then beat undefeated Miami (around 17)
Top 15 if we then beat BYU (around 14)
Top 10 if we then beat Syracuse and UVA
Top 5 if we then beat Pitt & Top 10 Clemson
Top 3 if we then beat Alabama A&M & Ugag
Top 2 if we then beat FSU/Clemson in ACCCG
Top 1 if we then win the MNC

Not to say that's going to happen, but that's what I think it would take to land in any of those Top # brackets (there are obviously some assumptions about teams ahead losing - obviously if Alabama and Oregon or someone like that go undefeated, there's nothing we can do to win the MNC).

The poster I quoted made it sound as though their playing at home actually meant something - may as well be a neutral field.

the weather could have an effect.. they are consistently more warm and humid down there

And let someone remind you that the three prior years before that, we scored 7, 10 & 17 points. Miami's D has had our number prior to last year.
It's no guarantee we'll score 40 against them. I'd love to see it though.

Uh, we scored 41 on Miami in 2008.

Five years ago dumbass.

No reason why this offense can't do the same. As it was in 2008, we have a new "wrinkle" that teams haven't seen from us in some time ... it's called "the forward pass." Not sure I like where the game is going, but I'm curious to see how this technique plays out. Throwing the ball ... who'd a thunk it?

Right. I was referring to how Miami's problem was in shambles in 2008. Randy Shannon was on his way out. He'd lost control of the program. The list goes on....

No way. 5-0 with a road win over Top 15 (and still ranked after the loss) Miami would put us in the 10-15 range. That would give us 4 consecutive weeks on national television with a good chance of the Miami game being in primetime. Porbably end up around 12/13 after that. But the chances of us coming out of the next 3 games unscathed is still small I think.

Yeh, that Miami D sure does have our number.

One short year ago...............

We had 419 Yards of Offense.......No GT Defense to speak of.................and yet.........

We scored...36. Dumb-azz.

I cant see how some of you a-holes can ACTAULLY BE...GT fans with such pathetically NEGATIVE attitudes towards the team.

Shannon was HIRED as HC in 2007.

He was not let go until......2010.

Dumb-azz.
