Bo Pelini Fired at Nebraska

Wow he never had less than 9 wins. Also won 4 bowl games and tied or won their division 4 times in 7 years. I don't see how this could be a good move.

Jesus ööööing Christ, who would want to coach here now with how low security and lee way a coach has?

No wonder Pelini made so many shots at the AD and his haters.....This is beyond ridiculous
Luginbill said average Nebraska recruit is from 900 miles away for last class, ouch

Of course, no clue how that number exactly compares to other classes and other schools, but sounds tough...

Look for them to have another Callahan type hire and be looking again in 3-4 years

This was not a smart move, but if you've watched the press conferences it was clear Pelini never got along with the Nebraska fan base. The real winner is the school that hires him as a head coach, which Florida should be trying to do with a quickness.

Nebraska is stupid for firing him. They won't hire Richt. Richt has the exact same problem of never winning less than 9 or more than 11 every year and a fanbase that hates him for it.

Huskers Rivals site lists him as a candidate. I didn't know he was born in Omaha.

Still think it's a stretch seeing as his whole coaching career has been in the southeast. Upgrade or lateral move? maybe an easier path to the playoff?

How does somebody born in Omaha move to a small town in the Carolina mountains? I always figured CPJ's ancestors was some Scots-Irish who lived in Appalachia since the 1700's. And probably a direct descendant of William Wallace. Not the Mel Gibson sanitized version, but the real version that wore the flesh of his enemies as belts into battle. THAT William Wallace.

Richt, not Johnson.

BTW, the move doesn't make much sense unless it's a pure cash grab. How have Nebraska's recruiting classes compared to ours? That would be the only thing that CPJ might move for, where recruiting would be easier. But it's still hard to implement the system. Our 2009 team didn't even implement the system that well, just had a lot of talent. CPJ would be taking 3 steps back as far as success just to maybe take five steps forward in a few years.

As a born and raised Husker fan who became a fan of PJ while at Navy and has followed both programs very closely since, I can almost guarantee you're in no danger of losing a guy who I think is a top 3 offensive mind in CFB and probably a top 5 coach in terms of results based on resources.

Nebraska fans, or at least the loud portion of them that dominate the BBS and media talk, are too ööööing stupid to look to PJ.

Instead, they'll go for a retread. Tressel is the name being pined over.

And I highly doubt that PJ, a southerner, would leave GTech for the Great Plains (even though he'd get awesome results there), if for no other reason than he realizes how idiotic a portion of fans and apparently the administration is.

Now I really really hope you all crush FSU.

I think the talent at Nebraska is probably greater, but really, a lot of it is a wash across all teams.

NU would definitely be an easier place to recruit, except for the remote geography. I think the conference strengths are pretty comparable.

I know you're just being sarcastic, but honestly he showed ZERO emotion when they scored that TD with 18 seconds left, and really acted like they just lost the game. Really blew my mind, because this is a guy that usually shows Les Miles emotion.

Maybe he knew they scored too soon?
