He can't have watched the Virginia and Duke games and looked at our bright red stadium today, without realizing that he owes it to Tech to do something. Now, I'm not sure what he needs to do. But, I'm sure he must do something to give our dwindling fan base some reason to have hope and stick with the program.

So far, the jury is out but what really _isses me off, is his stand on asking fans to wear gold and yet when we play the hated Dwags, the team comes out in all white allowing the mutts to wear their red unis. WTF!!! Is that keeping the red out? He has a lot of work to do because this program is going in the wrong direction. This is one example.

Have said this for years. I love the gold white gold but it should never be used against ugag at home.

We wear white at home. Period. That's our tradition. It would be stupid to change OUR tradition just so UGA can't wear red.

Of course, they could have worn ball gowns and 5" heels and beaten us yesterday.

Fwiw, I met Stansbury at the hotel bar yesterday after the game. Very nice and took a minute to chat. Almost the first words out of his mouth were "we're getting rid of this russell öööö." He seemed embarrassed that we'd been with them so long. I told him I like Paul Johnson but we can't lose to Duke. He agreed and said we've got to get PJ the support he needs. This offseason will show what he means by that and how much he can actually do.

I think you will find that tradition has gone back and forth over the years. Either way in our lifetimes GT has traditionally lost to ugag. Anything that can help to fix or change that within the law should be considered.

And the color of the jerseys can help us beat UGA? Tell me more.

Water parks, bowling alleys, laser tag, and putt putt seem to be working at other schools. My point it at one stage GT was king of Georgia, now Georgia is king. The culture changed. GT has to find a way to switch that at least in part. Your average high school football player sees ugag in their home jersey at GT with maybe 50% of the stadium red. That looks bad before the opening kickoff. You feel not wearing our white jerseys would be a concession. Nobody thinks that but GT people.
How did the series records become a disagreement? Some ugag people decided they could erase 2 losses by lies. It's not true but a greater percent of football fans in this state follow that lie.

It won't change the red color in the stands. It isn't like the UGAg fans are gonna go "Damn, we gotta wear white to the Tech game"
Wearing home white doesn't seem to affect LSU's ability to draw 96,000 every home game
I prefer the white unis.

and, IMO, there are more opposing fans in the stands than ever, especially in the east where you used to never have that problem. Even during the VT game, you could look into the east stands and see it was half VT fans.

White shirts is not a 'tradition' unless you consider that a tradition which began with Paul Johnson. Visiting team gets choice of what jersey they will wear but we usually ask to wear our white and allow the other team to wear their colored jerseys. If you will remember, Wake Forest refused that request a few years ago and we had to wear our gold jerseys at home.

Either way, this is a useless and silly thing on which to focus your efforts. First, figure out how to increase the number of W's on the field before you begin to worry about ancillary crap like what color jersey do we wear or how many people in the stands were wearing what color.

We can hack into their communications programs and tell all the Uga fans to make it a white out

The way the rule is now, I think UGAg could still wear red even if we wear gold. The rule was changed. I think if there is enough difference in the jerseys they don't stop either team from wearing their colored jerseys.

Well, since we wear white, we sort of have to get the approval of the opposing team so that we may continue wearing white to home games. Most teams are accommodating , but they don't have to let us wear them. I remember Miami dicking with us one year because of that rule.

Plus, I prefer the white home jerseys, anyway.

In addition, we should NEVER change any of our traditions or what we stand for, in order to try to compete with the mutts (though I am not really sure what making them wear white would have done).

True. We just need to agree with each other and the conference(s) allows it. USC and UCLA now do it all the time. There was a stink caused by it about a decade ago, so I think this is why the rules changed to allow it.

We've worn gold-white-gold since the mid 90's.
Oh really? Try watching this video of Calvin Johnson highlights and see if your statement is true. Hell, the very first play is against Notre Dame at home. Then skip to about 2:23 to see us playing Troy at home. 3:28 against Virginia at home. 7:12 against Miami at home. And on, and on, etc.

What color jerseys are we wearing? *cough* gold *cough*

I know that when Gailey was here, we traditionally wore gold jerseys at home.

When you are doing something a certain way and it's working that is great. When things aren't working you must try any avenue you can think of to change things in your favor. I don't feel any color jersey we wore yesterday would have changed the scoreboard. But challenging things and being open to bettering your circumstance or the culture of your rivalry by anything even as small as not allowing ugag to wear red at Bobby Dodd is exactly what GT needs. Fire in your belly and the feeling of "we aren't going to submit, we are here to fight you. I don't care if it's your goofy head coach, your ugly red jerseys, or the 16 nfl running backs you have". We are going to do everything possible big or small to fight you all day long.

I would argue that a discussion about our AD making infrastructure changes quickly becoming a discussion about uniform colors is a part of our problem and it will be difficult for our AD to do anything about how crappy our fans are.

Here's what we'll do this offseason:
We will upgrade our recruiting staff to catch up with Duke.
We will start a fundraising effort.
We will tweak the coaching staff, but nothing major (DC stays).
