If Tech misses a bowl again, that’s three empty postseasons in four years. Your division is not getting any easier, now that Miami’s getting it figured out. Keep up with the Joneses, or keep wasting Metro Atlanta’s natural resources. Six wins should be Tech’s floor, not its goal.

6-6 would mean going 4-4 in these games, plus losses to Clemson and Georgia: at USF, at Pitt, at Louisville, vs. Duke, at Virginia Tech, at UNC, vs. Miami, and vs. Virginia. That would be rather embarrassing. I think he would have to go. You can’t be bad and boring.

Not enough. This could be CPJ's best team since he came to Tech. Anything less than 8 wins is unacceptable.

I don't think that he can go 6-6 this season and not have the seat flaming hot (or worse). While '15 can be excused due to an incredible # of injuries and at key positions no less, '17 was bad in losing so many games late and then the 2nd half collapses versus Dook and UVA. Having 3 seasons in 4 that are bad is not "acceptable" this far into a coach's tenure.

I think that the team will be better than that this season.

CPJ going NOWHERE, unless team quits playing. I believe this team is capable of anything from about 4 wins to about 9 wins.

Threads like this show that ST is not really that divided on CPJ. (Some guys are just moaners. [joke incoming]) CPJ is going to be on everyone's hot seat if we have another losing season this year. Frankly, depending on the nature of the losses and to whom, I'd be pretty dissatisfied with 8-4. By this point in time, we should be winning the Coastal every two or three years. Four straight years outside contention – three of them, by hypothesis, far outside contention – doesn't get it done for me.

The only caveat to this would be if we soul-crush UGA. A stirring victory over UGA lifts all spirits, regardless of what transpired before that.
