Collins or Satterwhite?

Those seem to be the two favorites. I guess Godsey wants the job but not sure he will even be considered. Seems like Collins and Satterwhite will both interview and one will be the coach in 2-3 weeks.

Gonna at least need to spell the coach's name right for your hot rumor to last longer than a fart.

Yes. Yes. Did Louisville already hire?

All three have a bigger budget than us and an easier road.

Bill Belicheck cant hold Satterfield's jock.

Louisville is locked in on the Purdue coach.

The difference between what Texas Tech paid Kingsbury and what we paid Johnson was not all that much. They have a similar stadium size and basically no history. They saw the zenith of their program in the Mike Leach years, and they fired him to appease a man who murdered five hookers. Even Tommy Tuberville said adios to Lubbock and left for greener pastures in Cincinnati of all places.

Colorado, like most Pac-12 schools, doesn't pay its coaches all that competitively.

How is Satterfield any better than the guy at ND state who isn’t exactly tearing things up at Wyoming? Or why is he a better candidate than JMU’s coach.

Wyoming has seen notable improvement under Bohl. They're on the verge of three straight winning seasons. Mike Houston has already been hired at Charlotte.

thx.

Appreciate your opinion, we just have to disagree.

I think we could appeal to Leach over wsu. Briles is presumably available. Those are stretch options. After that the names I'm seeing are all top tier candidates in my mind.

I must add Ive seen a lot of "top destination" schools settle for Plan F lately, and overpay to boot.

Im really glad they're not asking GTCrew for his expertise on this.

Who do you prefer, and who do you think we get, and is monken an acceptable plan c?

I think if we were going to stick to a 3O guy we should have just convinced Paul Johnson to stay. They're not going to do better than him. They're not going to recruit better than him and they're not going to scheme better than him. So to me that's taking a step back. I'm also not a fan of hiring someone just because he has proven he can win in Sun Belt. That doesn't mean much to me, especially since the guy's recruiting classes are actually in the bottom of the SBC. Look it up. Last year his team was ranked below most of the rest of the conference. That's not going to cut it with our schedule. I want a young energetic guy, who can recruit his ass off and energize the team and the fanbase. We're not going to outscheme uga and clemson anymore, this is the time we decide if we want to keep playing football or become a relic.

I'm not conviced that Monken can't come in and recruit better than CPJ did. Crootin' is a young man's game unless you're Nick Saban.

Well, nevermind - Monken is as old as PJ was when he was hired as HC.

We also have never out-recruited either of these schools (or Miami or most years UNC). So, how would you propose to compete with them? The school sure as hell isnt changing to accommodate a football coach.

GT doesn’t have to have the CPJ’s spread option to compete with the better teams on the schedule, but GT has only beaten those schools when they had a scheme/coaching advantage in my lifetime.

So, I agree with the energetic recruiter part and I hope that comes with a different scheme be it from him or an assistant.

Paul Johnson with a top 30 class every year could have had multiple top 10 finishes and probably split the COFH 50/50. Yes we have a lot going against us in recruiting but one of those things was the offense. I do want a scheme advantage but I dont want to hire someone just for that reason. We're doing everything else we can to improve recruiting, so we need a coach who can recruit better than 8th in SBC. And whoever that guy is we need to pay him and his assistants a öööö load of money.

Are you ööööing kidding me? Satterfield is going to make some AD look like a genius. Dude is a winner.

Collins doesnt have the track record for me to be as confident.
Satterfield please.
