I doubt we've had the situation much in the past. Someone decides they are leaving, I would expect they just leave. This is like the girlfriend that breaks up with you but still wants to use your car to help find her next boyfriend.

If he had decided to leave early for the NFL, would you guys have a problem with him continuing to train at GT? He's still in school this semester, right? Still on scholly? I just don't see a problem with it if the coaches and players don't see a problem with it. They are all friends, and if your friend decided to go elsewhere wouldn't he still be your friend?

Much better analogy than the girlfriend, IMO. I fail to see any problem whatsoever, unless he has a bad attitude or is distracting the team.

I have a hard time seeing how there wouldn't be a negative attitude or a distraction to the team and coaches; but if there isn't then I agree with you.

I'm with you on this! If the coaches and players don't have a problem with it then isn't that all that matters? Why on Earth would it even concern me one bit?

I agree with you and others with one caveat. PB needs to be communicating where he is likely going to grad school. If is he going to a school we play in 2019, at that point things change. I assume the coaches have asked him not to go to a school on our 2019 schedule and he would not want to as he is a GT guy.

I would expect once he announces what school he is going to he would clear out, not because GT kicked him out but because he wants to be at the new school with the new team and staff.

He does not graduate until May. He is on a full athletic scholarship until he leaves.

I have absolutely no opinion without knowing the circumstances. If Braun is doing this because he could not get or get into the graduate program he wants at Tech and has a positive attitude, is well-liked, and brings no negative baggage I would include him in whatever he wants to participate in. If he has a less than positive vibe toward the new staff and what they are trying to accomplish I would keep him away from off-season conditioning and workouts. Since I don't have any way of knowing which of the above is true, I have no idea what we should do.

Seems the overwhelming concensus is that it really is a case-by-case decision and would be based on facts we arent privy to.
Now if only we could reach that same overwhelming consensus in 90% of the N&P threads.

I am confident when we sign 10 of the top 300 players in the country in the 2020 class that 90% of us will agree it was a good class.

It’s distracting to have someone who doesn’t want to be a part of your team fully participating in what you’re doing.
I dont think anyone is saying or expecting "fully participating". I think we are talking more about kicking out of edge or not.

The Brauns are tech men. They'll do the right thing. They always have. No reason we should worry about this young man's decisions.
Seems like a very big decision (leaving) to be made with no plan of where he's going to play. Since nobody knows what he is doing, it's difficult to say he's doing the right thing.
