While I agree with that, you can do all those things at the University of Florida, Florida State, Tennessee and Auburn, USC, UCLA, Texas, Oregon and Washington.

What I Don’t understand is why so many football players choose to go to UGA instead of those schools.

UCLA is not like the others, man. Not even close.

I hate the dwags, more than any of y'all I would bet. I am not going to lie to myself or anyone else and say that they do not have competitive things that make them appealing to young football players.

Good legal representation. That's one. Very experienced team of lawyers.

(I see reality, but I also see this platform as a way to emphasize the worst aspects of Dawg-ness. And the worst side is bad enough to keep me too busy to ever seriously list the good.)

The good thing for us is that some of the same things that make it appealing to recruits is the same thing that keeps them from winning anything meaningful.

Agree with your sentiment - but you misspelled dwag.

Not sure why any of that matters. Of course there is a reason that most powers are in smaller college dominated towns.

BUT that isn't what GT has. It can't sell that. There are other ways to skin a cat though. Collins has figured that out and knows what sells GT.

It isn't the same as being in say: Chicago Ill where you are surrounded by mediocre HS football.

GT is in the middle of one of the most talented states in the country and a city that is known for college football. You should be able to get a lot of recruits to see that and enjoy that experience. We aren't going to get them all; we aren't going to get the ones that are set on playing in from of 90k+ fans.

Seeing the way UGA tries marketing it as part Atlanta is evidence that maybe there is something to what Collins is doing. I also know that Auburn and Bama try to talk up playing in Atlanta to recruits.

At this point, I think the only thing GT needs is a little momentum: a few wins, signs of good coaching, putting a few players in the draft; that kind of stuff. All of that will feedback to improve the recruiting.
With even a modicum of success, the members of the 2020 recruiting class will become the salesmen for the program that CGC wants and needs. And then each successive class should build the momentum that you mentioned.

Anyone we can nab from Michigan State? They are in a tailspin after Dantonio left and no one wants to take the job

WR Ricky White could possibly get out of his LOI but WR isn't exactly a need right now. Depends on if we have room.

Then explain Athens? Why do recruits like playing over there? Can't be because of the school. Probably the broads.

Consider it an internship for those preparing for a career as a sanitation injurneer. They'll play all home games in a cesspool, acclimating themselves to the stench that emanates from Sanford & Son Stadium. The acclimation process closely mimics the smells similar to the landfill they'll be working at after their matriculation ends in graduation or dismissal, whichever comes first.

ACC jumped on the 1-time bandwagon with the B10. Saban is opposed out of fake concern for the kids, which tells you something.

Saban is right. I mean, he could have improved his career by changing teams. Think of where he could have ended up - LSU, Bama, or heck maybe even the Miami Dolphins - if only he decided to make such a move. As it is, he’s done really well for himself all these years at MSU. He stuck it out and faced adversity like a champion.
