14 game playoff

I never said 9 at large isn't fair. The 12 team playoff with 5 top conference champs and 7 at large is already fair enough.

The main point is that the expansion of playoffs at this point is about greed and not designing a better method for crowning the best team in CFB. Arguably, the best system for crowning a champ in CFB would be a 4 to 8 team playoff. Anything beyond 8 starts to undervalue the regular season. 12 is more than ample.

Looking at this past year's rankings, the last two in for a 12 team playoff would be Ole Miss and Oklahoma. For a 14 team playoff (if 9 at large, though I think it will just be more AQs for the top conferences), it would also include LSU and Arizona, both three-loss teams. Just seems excessive at that point...
When was it ever NOT about greed? It ever resulting in a better method for crowning the "best team" is pure happenstance.

I am ok with the 2 auto vs 3 for SEC - otherwise we will get screwed with 1 team so take it - the auto byes went too far though and would kill the deal for me.

So the ACC would be cemented as the #3 conference in terms of CFP revenue, according to "sources".

The ACC is expected to receive slightly more than the Big 12 because of its past playoff participants

The models I was shown that are likely to be voted on and approved are: One of three models are: 3-3-2-2-1+3; or 2-2-1-1-1+7; or 5+9.

Static Payouts - 3-3-2-2-1+3( w/little At large Bids)
BIG will get 25%
SEC will get 25%

ACC will get 20%
XII will get 18%

G5 & ND will get 12%

Non-Static Payouts 5+9
P2 - to split 50% (SEC and BiG would split this %pool of money annually based on teams selected)

M2- To split 38% (ACC and BiG12 would split this %pool of money annually based on teams selected)

ND & G5- To split 12% (would split this %pool of money annually based on teams selected)

Example of Non Static Payouts
So 1 year if the SEC has 6 teams and the Big only has 3 teams then the SEC would get 77% of their pool of money and the Big would get 33%. So if the 50% of the CFP payout that year is 500M than the SEC would get 335M and the Big10 would get 165M

If the 38% of the CFP payout that year is 380M and the ACC has two teams in the playoffs and Big12 has 1 than the ACC would get 77% of their pool of money and the Big12 would get 33%. The ACC would get 254.6M and the Big12 would get 125.4M

If ND & G5 make both make the playoff then they would split the 12% CFP playoff (Do not know what portion of the 12% is divided and how)

CFP Final Payouts would look like:
SEC 6 Teams - 335M (As SEC & BIG10 split 50% of CFP revenue by how many teams selected)
Big10 3 teams - 165M (As SEC & BIG10 split 50% of CFP revenue by how many teams selected)
ACC 2 Teams - 254.6M (As ACC & BIG12 split 38% of CFP revenue by how many teams selected)
Big12 1 Teams - 125.4M (As ACC & BIG12 split 38% of CFP revenue by how many teams selected)
ND - Split 12% with G5
G5 - Split 12% with G5

Or some years could look like this: (50/50 split)

SEC 4 Teams - 250M (As SEC & BIG10 split 50% of CFP revenue by how many teams selected)
Big10 4 teams - 250M (As SEC & BIG10 split 50% of CFP revenue by how many teams selected)
ACC 2 Teams - 140M (As ACC & BIG12 split 38% of CFP revenue by how many teams selected)
Big12 2 Teams - 140M (As ACC & BIG12 split 38% of CFP revenue by how many teams selected)
ND - Split 12% with G5
G5 - Split 12% with G5

You get the point!

Thus this is why they are now talking AQ per Conf, to get a more static payout ( will always vary with At-large on the table just not as much as only 3 At Large could be awarded more monies to P2 or M2 a few years, but in most years going to P2!

The ACC should start playing the game and get the number of voters to be equal per conference then get them all to support their conference exactly the way all else does now.

Congrats to the BIG and SEC for having their years of poll manipulation paying off in hundreds of million dollars.

Lol pre determined slots based on the conference not the merit of the teams. Is this a ööööing joke. Screw it
Reality is the ACC, B12 one or both will be gone in 5 years anyway. So most schools will be in the big 2 (B1G, sec) or merged leftovers of the ACC / B12 into whatever the #3 league is named.

There is no doubt that while the ACC slept, the Big Ten and SEC grabbed major college football teams. They will always get ahead in anything subjective (there are simply more writers voting in the Big Ten region for example). So grabbing two autos for the ACC is not bad. The problem I have is that the Big 12 leftovers have done nothing, ever! Their conference is deep and decent, but the ACC has created national champions. Why do they deserve the recognition equal to the ACC? This is a dumb move brought by sec, big ten to further separate parties. Vote no.
The ACC basketball schools didn't want to expand at all when we took Miami and VT. GT, FSU, and Clemson demanded it. Funny how we were seen as one of the football powers of the ACC then and now people look over at NC State, UVA, and UNC.

We really have some winning to do to get back into the discussion
