2020 BDS Safety Protocols... Including Alcohol Sales!!

By the time they add up everyone who has already opted out, and the people who decide that they are not going to go because they are trading their Lower West seats for upper North socially distanced seats, and the folks that refuse to do anything wearing a mask, I'm guessing most of our season ticket holders who want in will be covered. No need to bitch and moan just yet.

One thing of interest in that link... 400 visiting team tickets out of 11,000 total tickets. That's 3.6% of seats going to visitors. I don't really know, but especially for our more significant visiting fanbases, that's a lot less than usually come to Grant Field. (3.6% of 55,000 is 1,980.)

It'll be nice to be playing a home game where there's really no discernible visitor support.

Another data point, my time is 12:30 on 9/1, I know I'm 4,000 something. (Edit: AT points rank)

Would piss off a lot more season ticket holders to not let any in simply because guys at the bottom of the list aren't allowed in.
Still, if out of the 11k you really get 6k ir so ST holders getting in, there will be a huge drop in ST demand for 2021.

Is say true, normally, but with ND on the schedule, not as many are gonna opt out. If we had Wake instead of ND, there'd be plenty of seats.

I'm not 100% positive I'd get in there at my time slot., but I am willing to scalp some games for the opportunity to watch a game in person. It's a special season, for sure, and I hope there's some understanding on that by all of our fans. Scalping may be $$$$, because as of right now, there are no fans for September games for the Falcons or United. No fans for MLB, and no NBA at all in Atlanta. We'll be the hottest ticket in town.

What will determine ticket demand in 2021 are the same things that always do: visiting teams, previous year's success, 'excitement' around the program, etc.

Have they had if tickets can be resold? I thought I read somewhere tickets could only be used by the original purchaser

I think ST holders are going to account for most, if not all, 11k.
Yes, I think he's distinguishing between season tickets purchasers, and season tickets. For example, I'm one purchaser with four tickets. So the 11,000 tickets available are purchased by a much smaller number of individuals. I think 6,000 is actually pretty generous, since that would imply a lot of season ticket holders are planning to purchase just one ticket this year (since a lot of season ticket purchasers, like myself, are buying more than two). How many people do you know that come to games by themselves? Not many.

One thing that's going to really piss us all off, though, is if the "usual suspect" season ticket holders purchase tickets but don't attend. There's always a healthy number of season tickets that don't get scanned every game. Needs to be some really easy way to move those on to other fans to make sure we've got as close to the 11,000 in at each game as possible.

From the way I have understood it, we only sell about 22-24k total season tickets. If that is the case, then there probably aren't very many more than 6k "accounts".

They're electronic-only tickets, which limits/complicates resale to some extent. I don't know that the GTAA really cares whether people show up or not (they'd probably rather they didn't) once they've sold the tickets, so it's not in their interest to do a lot of work to facilitate resales.

Then they should all be fired immediately. And if any of them ever even hinted at that, even in the depths of their confessional prayers at night, I would do all I could to get them all fired.

Well that would kind of suck.

I'm in favor of it if it keeps season ticket holders from buying tickets with no intention of using them and reselling them to randos (assuming there's enough demand to make a profit) when other "core fanbase" folks are left out in the cold.

should never do anything to suppress attendance at GT games, even visitors, except for UGA fans obvs.

I'm just thinking from a practical/mercenary perspective, especially this year. More people=more problems, and "creating a great atmosphere" is lower than usual on the priority list. In a normal year, I'd like to believe that they want to get as many rabid GT fans into the stands (and keep out the Dwags) as possible.
