2020 BDS Safety Protocols... Including Alcohol Sales!!

I may just have bad luck. Last 2 braves games and Atlanta united game I got splashed with beer. I’m down now to going to games by myself as my wife won’t and neither will my grown kids who all went to Tech.
Again, just hope there is somewhere that is set aside for us. Had season tickets since 1982 and I’m done after this year if there isn’t. I will just donate the money instead of buying tickets.

Atlanta United games definitely have splash zones after goals. Mostly behind both goals in the lower bowl.

Behind the goal was where we were for the Atl United championship game a couple of years ago. A lot of beer flying after every goal. At least there was a trophy at the end of that one!

I went to a few of the Atlanta United games at Bobby Dodd. Beer was sold and there were no belligerent fans or people getting medical aid due to alcohol related issues.

Then again, Atl Utd was exciting to watch so people drank a bit but wanted to pay attention to the game. Coach Pnope’s offensive play calling may lead to more drinking.

I’m no saint. I drink. But I just don’t want to hear a bunch of foul language around And EtOh increases that probability.

How can you serve alcohol on a campus where 90% of the student body is under-age?
You are a damn liar.
Of course I am. Beer is widely known to increase muscle mass and strength.

In a stadium where the vast majority of people in attendance are over 21. I don't know. How can you?

There is more alcohol being consumed steps from the stadium then there will be consumed inside of it.

I understand the motivation to sell alcohol for profit. But I’ve always enjoyed the family atmosphere at BDS. It’s not like going to a Braves, Falcons, Tampa Bay or UGA game. I wish every home game game kicked at 9:00 AM. I like a cold beer. But I don’t like rowdy foul language around my wife and grandkids. I’m disappointed in the artificial turf. And I’m disappointed in the alcohol policy. That being said, go Jackets.

I’ve never had a drink in my life, but I’m occasionally prone to some rowdy foul language. They aren’t necessarily related.

On the one hand, BDS hasn’t ever (in my time) been totally G-rated. On the other hand, I don’t think beers in the stadium will make that much of a difference. There are plenty of drunks there anyway when we don’t sell $11 beers.

I'd rather have people drunk on beer that supports Tech than them sipping their own hard liquor.

Selling alcohol in the stadium may have a positive effect on drunkenness. People are less likely to tailgate binge knowing that drinks are available inside. It’s not the steady, measured drinking that is usually the problem. It’s the people who load up right before TML in order to ride a buzz through the 4th quarter that are usually the worst. The most problems I’ve had were with recently graduated Greeks in the upper east who had obviously loaded hard in the hour before kickoff and were showing their asses by middle of the 2nd quarter.

Also - maybe the frats will start getting to games on time.

On the other hand, this allows me to tailgate binge and continue drinking till halftime
