2020 Recruiting

I think it is hard to get JUCOs; that is the one route that I can't remember us ever using. I expect (but don't know) that GT doesn't consider most of their academics rigorous enough to transfer.

This is true. We had one (Whitehead) in CPJs whole tenure IIRC. And the last one before that was Durant Brooks I believe. We’re basically averaging one JUCO transfer per decade while SEC schools are averaging 2 former 4* JUCO DLs per class. It’s not a trivial disadvantage.
 
Getting back on track for recruiting 2020, Jared Behrens' twitter profile has been changed to now say that he is graduating in January 2021. Seems like that will take him out of the 2020 class.

Also, former FSU commit Derek Bermudez will officially visit GT this month.

I agree on the JUCO route. The JUCO's with football and the JUCO's with academic standards appear to be mutually exclusive.

The QB's that seem the best fits are from TCU, Auburn, West Virginia and Ole Miss.
 
Does anyone else feel we will take one defensive tackle with heft and one more cornerback with length, and then put a bow on this recruiting class?

1 corner? Yes. 1 DT? Maybe, but I bet we'd prefer two if we can. We are also likely to take a linebacker.

In the case that we lose anyone from the class late, we will also have the 2nd signing period to fill any holes. You can't sleep on the second signing period because we got Ahmarean Brown and Mike Lockhart there last year, so there is some solid talent there. (edit: and Jamious Griffin!)

Yes on linebacker, although that ship may come from our existing commit list dropping one, so I didn't think to include it. Two DT's is a very pleasant thought.

Part of that challenge is putting enough doubt in a kids mind so he decides not to sign. So we have to mix hope a bad situation happens with persuasion.

Oh, Behrens. Yeah, I have already mentally dropped him from my list.
 
I'm pretty sure we will get Khatavian Franks. And likely to get DE Jared Ivey. Also possibly Makius Scott especially if SC fires Muschamp.

And I think we're losing Behrens and possibly an OL from our current commits.

Nick Turner's twitter profile doesn't mention anything about his commitment to GT anymore either, so maybe 3.

Arkansas had been coming after him hard but I dunno how the coach getting fired affects that. I am guessing we lose Turner and get one of Battle/Harrell/Bermudez and I dunno whatever happened to Morton.

If we lose Turner, I would hope we get 2 out of that group. I suspect we still take at least one even if we don't lose Turner. Not sure on Morton either. Everything's gone radio silent on him, but I believe he still is an option.

Not based on anything but following twitter/boards, but I get the feeling Morton is lower on our board than a few of the guys that became legit options for us after he decommitted from Bama (Harrell/Battle).
 
Yeah looks like Turner is being recruited over. I feel Morton is not worth the trouble and because of that, has slipped below Harrell, Battle, and probably Bermudez.

We had something with Nassau CC for a while.

The only name I remember was big Jon Carman, who blocked out the sun.
