2022 Recruiting

Stole this from another site but since the same argument is going on here it's relevant. We didn't just lose one QB recruit, we've lost 4......
"The idea that a kid is going to pick a G5 school over a P5 school because the P5 school has a returning starter with 4 years left who just finished with a 1:1 TD:INT ratio…some of y’all need to wake up and see something is wrong with our QB recruiting."

Meh. Sims is going to be a superstar. Whoever you stole this off of is an idiot.

He picked them because of what he was promised in NIL. It’s about the $$.

Pretty sure that quote is one of our own StinGTalkers who may or may not choose to defend his/her post on this site where the standard of proof might be a little higher then elsewhere.

His decision making (few hundred or thousand NIL dollars vs. lifetime earning difference in GT degree/Memphis degree) is obviously poor. We dodged a bullet.

Everyone give everyone a pass. Overreactions to committed recruits are because we haven’t recruited in a while. Overreactions to lost recruits are because we haven’t recruited in a while.

I think the decision says more about the kid and what is important to him than anything deficient in our recruiting. We lost a 3 star recruit to 2nd tier school. Not a big deal. Others have said we aren't landing QB recruits this year. Well guess what, we have a solid stable of QBs right now and guys don't want to ride the bench. Let's see what happens in the next 2 years.

This kid may be thinking he has a better shot at playing at a G5 school than a P5 school and he may be right. Stay home, play in front of family, and probably start, or go to ATL and watch from the sidelines.

I feel like everyone is discounting the influence of the ghost papaw.
