I don't think this means much of anything for us this recruiting cycle but if it becomes effective immediately then some programs could sign 32.
The big programs will push their under-performers out and then use the NIL to hire the best transfers at their positions of need.

Honestly, right now anything that disrupts the team/roster management aspect of football helps GT. I say this because our current coach is the one who just about pioneered the use of a "general manager" at the college level. Suddes has been with us for three years now, and if there's one thing we seem to be doing really well, it's making roster lemonade from whatever lemons the NCAA puts on the table.

The Big Programs have always done that

Saban has been using roster management since he got there

The last Ohio State Coach publicly said that he used to get rid of the bottom 6-8 players each off-season to keep the Team focused and motivated and to keep the talent level as high as possible

The big boys will run off an additional 7 Players, then sign 7 additional Recruits from HS therefore weakening the bottom half of the Top25 by taking HS Players that in a normal year they wouldn't have room for

Let's use the Top8 for example, 8 X 7 = 56

That's 56 Players from HS that are upper three star and higher that will end up making the rich even richer

Amazing that we have an NCAA Director that makes 7 Figures each year and can't see how decisions like this hurt the Parity among the Teams in the power five conferences

You say all this like it's not the point.

Sorry I wasn't clear - this is what is wrong with the NCAA

The NFL has a Commissioner and a Salary Cap to ensure parity, the Execs at the NCAA do nothing to try to bring parity to the Sport

I understand a Recruit is free to choose any College he wants to, but there are other things that the NCAA can do to help encourage more parity in the Sport

I didn't mean to make it not seem like the point

32 a year is bad for Tech. Too many top recruits want to be part of the top ten programs even if they don’t play. We live on transfers in, not out.
