Rushing Spring practice seems like a really bad idea. You want it over before the semester is coming to a close, but mid-April seems a lot better than mid-March. It would make sense to me that your conditioning program will have better energy leading up to the practice sessions than on the other side of them. But, TV viewership numbers on March 17 may justify the move - that evening millions will need an alternative to watching the first full day of the NCAA basketball tournament. Tech marketing genius at its best.

It appears we are the only team to hold a Spring game on a weeknight. The 6 PM start makes it worse. If it was TV, why are we the only team affected?
It appears our coach and AD actively try to discourage our remaining fans. I would think this scheduling will also inconvenience the families of our out of town players and discourage attendance by high school prospects.

It makes no sense, but it is obviously being done for a reason. Just wish there was clear communication between leadership and fans. I can’t ever remember a time when communication and transparency has been worse.

Most likely reason I can think of is we probably sucked at negotiating it and just took what was given.

There didn’t used to be a way to lose the Spring game, but it looks like we found a way. It reeks of just get this damn season over with so we can move along.

Yep, if I’m the leader of a 3 win program my #1 concern would be my team getting a full spring break.

Having on TV brings more reach to fans. Thursday makes sense for students because spring breaks is the following week. If you had on Friday night or Saturday of that week then students would already be headed home or whatever... Obviously this creates issues for the working population of Tech fans.
