2025 Recruiting

1 losing season in his career (CFB, NFL) as a coach, was with the Dolphins. But getting his “teeth kicked in” by going 9-7, 6-10 is an exaggeration. His failure with the Dolphins was solely picking Daunte Culpepper over Drew Brees coming off a major injury. Had Saban picked Brees, Alabama football more than likely never goes on the run they did. And CFB may look a whole lot different today.

"If he had done X instead of Y, A and B would probably have maybe happened instead of C and D."

Strong argument for the GOAT there.

While y'all have been arguing about college football angels dancing on the head of a pin, we have gone 3 days without signing a 5*?

Is this a sign of the end? Come on, we are a Tech fan group - act like it!

Translation: Peyton stopped by with a shat load of cash, TN river hillbilly chicks volunteering to give it up, and as much fried chicken as he can eat.

This is a little simplistic because of the self inflicted hurdles but here is a “scouts” take on GT and recruiting.

"Considered among the supposed sleeping giants of the NIL era, Georgia Tech is on pace to ink a historic signing class under third-year coach Brent Key.“

"Georgia Tech is one of those programs where we've all said, 'God forbid they ever get it together, there's nothing that will stop them,'" a scout from a program that competes with Georgia Tech in recruiting said. "Kids love the thought of playing in Atlanta. It's a great school with a good conference. Obviously, the state runs red in terms of the Bulldogs, but there's plenty of talent for them to go get there."

The above is from ESPN’s “winners and losers from summer recruiting” article. If you don’t have ESPN+, that’s on you at this point. Get Hulu, etc, it’s a part of the subscription.

Showing the in exact science recruiting is….

Amazing how big of a miss this was by the so called recruiting experts. Former #1 5* QB, top 5 national player in Nelson transfers from USC to Boise State after his freshman year, only to lose that QB competition as well.

I think the change is that the GTAA can now spend up to $20mil / year in NIL funding to players. Our NIL program did not allow us to compete with the Factories. Now the field is closer to level. The Factories will still have private NIL programs to supplement the $20mil their schools can pay directly.

What's our football coaching salary budget per year? $10mil?
