#2 rated recruiting class in the ACC per Rivals, Top 20 nationally (#19) 2 weeks before NSD. Goes to show what CBK said from day 1 when he came back to GT is true. Recruiting at GT should have always been stronger based on the advantages GT has to offer from a school and location perspective. I know NIL helps, but this is coming off a strong #30 2024 class.

Keep in mind, the Portal is the great equalizer. These are all 1 year deals right now. Look at how SMU built their roster into an ACC CG team. Mostly built along both LOS through the Portal. Lashlee was given great advice by Gus (which is funny since he is struggling at UCF). CBK and staff need to balance out this Top 20 H.S. class with key impact Portal additions. The 2025, 2026 schedules are there for runs.

I don't disagree with any particular point.

I think Key has hit on a few high-value portal targets (King and van den Berg come to mind), to fill holes, which is the strategy most likely to lead to long term success. As opposed to trying to build the whole team that way ( a la F$U). To that end, a strong core roster competing for conference championships which lead to playoff berths is a more desirable landing spot for the next Haynes King.

This is, of course ignoring NIL money, which can make any school look desirable.
