We really do have some of the worst fans. We have some great fans too, but the GTFLETCH-type overpowers them. I’m starting to see why the Hive’s way of moderating is the better choice.

I'm going to go ahead and say it. To all recruits, if you want to play football at GT, it is best that you base your decision on the school and not the coach. If you haven't had your head buried in the sand you'll know that there is a good chance coach may not be back next season.

I'm just gonna imagine some of those recruits, or perhaps more likely, their families are going to be scouring the interwebs at some point looking for info on the program. They run across threads like this....oh sure...no harm, no foul, right? And even if it doesn't make it to recruits, what possible good can it do?

At least give the season a chance to play out. If nothing changes, THEN sure...go ahead and speculate on a new coach because we all know it's coming. But this hypothetical BS is frigging stupid.

Hasn't Geoff Collins had three season? 9 wins later and you want me to wait for him to produce a CPJ type of team that could win the ACC or go to an OB? Do you think Bill Lewis deserved more time on the FLATS?
 
This guy's next stop is certain to be a re-build. The question is, would he want to do that at GT? It will all come down to who we're competing against. If it's us vs some non-P5 school, then sure. But us against another P5? Odds are not in our favor in that case.

No. I want you to STFU and wait until the season is underway because he IS going to be the coach for game 1 and this type of moronic speculation isn't doing a bit of good.

What is so moronic? The Coach is 9-25. Heck last season in 2021 a large majority of the roster were now players that Geoff Collins and his staff had brought into the program willingly, either by recruiting them out of high school or taking them from the transfer portal. GT was rated 5th in the ACC and 33rd nationally in overall team talent by the 247Sports Team Talent Composite. They’ve had another year in the strength and conditioning program, and by all means look the part of a team that’s ready to take a step forward. They’ve had a full, normal offseason for quarterback development and scheme refinement. Hell, the coaching staff had even spent the entire offseason running around practices and media availabilities wearing shirts that say “W.I.N.21” on them, proclaiming that winning is “What’s Important Now”.

What happened IMHO was moronic, another 3 win season. Based on what I saw last season, Geoff Collins as HC on the FLATS isn’t working, and it isn’t going to work if this is what 3 years of building has resulted in. I wasn’t expecting the team to be in a place to beat playoff-caliber Clemson or georgia teams, or even to win the division against clearly talented-but-flawed UNC and Miami teams. I was expecting this program to be in a place where they could score an easy win over a completely outmatched opponent and show some progress that would indicate that the players are actually being coached. (NIU) Well, they’re not. And if that’s the case, then I can pretty well see how the next 1-2 seasons are going to go.

Almost universally, new head coaches who create a bump do so in year two or three; if not by then, it usually doesn’t happen. Recent performance, massive losses in production, a lack of game-changing additions, and an absolutely brutal schedule mean that realistic expectations for this year’s outcome fall right around what we have seen the last three seasons. And that isn’t, and shouldn’t be, good enough. It’s over. It’s just a matter of time at this point — we’re in the endgame now. Its time to talk if the next head coach is on the roster (aka Bill Lewis to George O'leary) or if we should go after another coach like Jamey Chadwell.

What is so moronic is that he's going to be the coach for game 1, regardless of any amount of whining and complaining you do. So acting like a little bitch does nothing but harm to the ability of the program to recruit; not good.

Nobody is happy with the 9 wins over 3 years but not everyone is acting like they have sand in their vaginal tract, like you are.

I do not think it matters if he is the coach for game 1 or game 12. If we all know he will be fired, why not talk about who the fans would like as their next coach? Why are you so butt hurt by this? Why are you over reacting to the fact that Geoff Collins is the worse Head Coach in the ACC, and acting like you have sand in your vaginal tract? Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed!

But do we KNOW he will be fired? I have no idea how many games we'll win this year but if we win 5 or 6, with this schedule, I doubt he is fired, TBH.

And you don't KNOW that either, despite all your rambling assertions. When/if the time comes to send him packing, have at it with your remarks but you ain't helping things, regardless of what you might think.
 
Online fan behavior means less than in stadium fan behavior (as in do they show up?) which are both miles and miles and miles and miles and miles separated by the billion other things on the list of important things to a recruit.
