21st Head Coach of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Hey, maybe CGC can turn things around and notch a victory over a team with a winning record this season.
That would be pretty cool! I mean it has been so bad the last three years, beating a team that finishes the season with a winning record would be nice!

Horsecrap.
I'm old enough to remember how much the fanbase wanted Bobby Ross gone, too. Then he had a good second half of the year in 1989 and everyone stopped complaining. Then we won the NC in 1990 and suddenly, all of those detractors were like "I knew he was the right guy all the time".

Not saying Collins is anywhere near that level of coaching. But winning cures all ills.
The lesson I have learned from the Geoff Collins era thus far is: "At some point, losing tons of (blowouts or close) games stops being about randomness and bad luck and starts being about ... you the HC."

Enjoy the upcoming season :)

No doubt a new HC would bring in his own staff. What I meant was if Collins touches anything we won’t win 5 games. He needs to assume the role of a token “head coach” that turns everything over to his assistants like Bobby Bowden did in his final years if he has a prayer of keeping his job.
Or ironically like Dodd did. HC should not be a slobbering buffoon hurrying and flapping about like they've never coached a game before. They should have competent assistants that they keep on a short leash. Maybe he gets it this year, Maybe somebody got to him and told him you're doing it wrong. Hopefully. We shall see.

It also stops being about the previous regime, historical rebuilds, and growing the culture.
I think it stopped being about the previous regime, historical rebuilds, and growing the culture last year. With all of his transfers and his recruiting classes, last year was it, by year three you are what your record says you are. For Example year three of Bobby Ross we went 7-4, than the following year we won four more games, before the following year coming back to earth at 8 games. If we increase our wins by 3 or 4 games we will be at 6 or 7 wins this year but by year five we will go back down to 4 or 5 wins. At some point we have to thank Geoff for trying and go get us a ball coach to rebuild this fan base and our TV audience so we do not find ourselves in the AAC or Sunbelt and instead invited to SEC or BIG10 super conferences!

The lesson I have learned from StingTalk is that you're a miserable, whiny little bitch. Dude, give it a damn rest and wait to see what the season holds. If he loses like he has, he'll be gone. If not, we all get to enjoy it. No need to keep beating the same dead horse.

And the lesson I have learned from the GTFLETCH era is that losing tons of (blowouts or close) games suggests that there is a third kind of loss that I was previously unaware of that is neither close nor not close. However, I am confident that losing tons of them is also not about randomness and (or??) bad luck and (but??) starts being about … you the HC.

Thanks for bumping your own thread to clear that up.

Post of the year.

I am worried about this guy's mental stability when we start 1-4. It might break him to have to wait for us to replace an AD before we replace the FBHC.

Why is he being a whiny little bitch when he speaks truth.
I think we all have learned that CGC is not the coach we need at Tech & the sooner he & his carnival clown show is gone the better GT football will be.

Because he keeps saying it over & over & over & over & over & over & over....all when saying it again is going to accomplish not a damn thing.
That is why he's being a whiny little bitch.

Well if Geoff Collins win 7 games this year I will apologize to everyone on this board and increase my annual giving to the GTAA! If I Geoff Collins win 3-5 games then I want you to admit I was right. Everyone should understand where I stand with this HC!

Dude, what point of 'I'M NOT DEFENDING COLLINS" do you not freaking understand? I'm just telling you that you need to STFU.
You're like a damn broken record and all of your bitching is accomplishing the exact same thing as a broken record....nothing constructive and just pissing off everybody who has to listen to your incessant complaining. Give it a damn break.

But, since you apparently struggle with reading comprehension, I'll repeat it here:
If Collins wins 3-5 games this year, he should be fired. I have never disputed that.

Since Geoff Collins has shown no ability to coach a team up and recruiting is about the same today as the CPJ era especially with Gibbs heading to Bama. I have decided to highlight potential Head Coaching replacements through out the year.

First up: Jamey Chadwell! Chadwell’s offense is a spread-option that presents challenges for the opposition. He implemented the spread-option offense in 2009 during his first season as head coach at Division II North Greenville. Chadwell’s offense centers around the backfield with a variety of different looks that has evolved from 20 to 21-personnel.

“The reason why we like to run the offense that we do, you don’t have to have the best linemen in the country to win games,” Chadwell said. “You don’t have to have the best receivers in the country to win games. Every job that I have had has been a rebuild. We’ve had to develop and recruit talent that fits your system.

“Part of the reason that we like to do the offense, is it gives you a chance to win games. We were probably the eighth most talented team out of ten in our league — and won the league this year. Part of that is because you get kids to buy into your scheme and your system, and they fit that. We can do a variety of different things. Recruiting is not hard for it, you just have to find the right guys that want to fit into what you do.”

The Chadwell File:
Age: 44
Salary: 850K
Head coaching record: 90–54
Bowls: 2–1
Tournaments
2–1 (NCAA D-II playoffs)
1–2 (NCAA D-I playoffs; 2015 playoff win against The Citadel vacated by the NCAA)

Accomplishments and Championships
1 Sun Belt (2020)
2 Big South (2015 (vacated by NCAA),

Awards
AP College Football Coach of the Year (2020)
Walter Camp Coach of the Year Award (2020)
Home Depot Coach of the Year (2020)
Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year (2020)
George Munger Award (2020)
Sun Belt Coach of the Year (2020)

A great article about the 21 personnel (two running backs, one tight end, two receivers), spread-option offense can be found at:

Jamey Chadwell is the most proven program builder who would be reasonably available for hire this off-season. Nobody else can say they’ve built 3 different programs across 3 different levels from the ground up. Every time he moves up a level, he has seen the same success he saw at the previous one. Chadwell’s offensive scheme and play calling are a major competitive advantage, and he is well known for developing good players despite Coastal Carolina being a difficult recruiting job. He’s proven he can coach ball and play with almost anyone, and the numbers back him up.
