2nd worst defensive performance in GT history

Or how about when our offensive lineman decided that blocking was too much of a chore and went blocking nobody on one of Mills runs while the guy he clearly saw made the tackle? That replay showed me how much Sewak sucks.
Lol saw that play. Blocker was way out front of Mills. He was like Mills got this and just ran by the guy. It is so sad and hard to watch anymore.

The 2014 offense converted a lot of 3rd and longs. It had one of the best 3rd down conversion rates in history IIRC. There were two WR's drafted, so that kind of helps on 3rd and long.

This offense can move the ball in 5 or even 10 yard chunks, but has gotten bogged down when there's a negative play. There haven't been as many fumbles as last year and one was definitely because JT went out of the game.

Was that the true freshmen center? Having the backup QB, a true freshmen center and a true freshmen B-Back isn't going to be great for the option's execution.

Sad is true. He let him go and that seems to be the mantra of the Sewak offensive line. Hit somebody.

We're entering bizarro Gailey territory now, where the offense is held to a much higher standard than the defense. Back then, people would blame the defense for a loss if they gave up 24 points while the offense could barely score 17.

Imagine being a player on our offense right now. You put up 20 points the first half, but your defense allows UNC to score at will. We had that long drive near the end of the first half and UNC responds with a TD in the blink of an eye. I'm not saying it's right or anything, but I absolutely believe some players come out flat in the 2nd half after seeing their defense shit the bed.

Saw it happen with my own eyes when Gailey was hear, but the reverse.

One that shows Johnson's skills and effort have diminished. Once you realize that it is a boat race, you don't try a field goal on 4th and 3. He doesn't believe in the offense anymore.

Forget about 4th and 3, what is up with Johnson? We scored 3 second half points against UNC, and 10 second half points against Duke. Our opponents are making adjustments at the half time and coming back out and throttling this offense. What has happened to our ability to make adjustments at the break and come out blazing in the second half of games? Even if the D had shut down UNC in the second half it wouldn't have mattered, and this is against a UNC Defense that is pretty porous. Looking at the skill position players we have this year, it is hard to believe UNC held us to 20 points.

I see what you are saying, but the offense scored 3 in the second half. It isn't like they did their job well. The idea that they can't do their job well because they are sad their defense sucks is weak at best. The defense didn't do their job. They were flat out awful. The offense, was bad and didn't put points on the board. 20 ppg is not enough to win these days.

Also, the college football offenses are much different now. In 2003-04, Oklahoma led NCAA in scoring at 42 ppg. This year Lousiville is averaging 50+ and 10 teams average more than OU's 42. In 2015, the average team scored 29.6 ppg. I couldn't find 2003-04 numbers to compare for this, but I expect that it was closer to 23 or 24 ppg. Comparing numbers across different eras is often misleading.

The offense only had 4 possessions in the second half because the defense couldn't get off the field, and JT5 left the game in the second series after halftime.

Boo Hoo. 3 points/ 4 possessions is not very good efficiency.

Excuses are like...

What do you expect though after Thomas leaves the game?

An offense that isn't totally dependent on one guy.

Wut?

Losing your starting QB in the middle of a game is going to have a tremendous impact on any team.

So I don't get misconstrued, yes, the offense had problems finishing drives prior to that. No doubt. I'm not debating or questioning that.
