They can't get UGA since they're locked into AM750, and they likely wanted to get some local football and basketball programming. I believe last year on Fall Saturdays they just had a few of their lesser-known guys host some type of "show" while other games were on discussing what was happening. I'm sure nobody chose to listen to that - they were all watching or listening to the play by play of actual games.
More people will listen to GT football games than will listen to Carlos Medina reading scores off of ESPN.com. And more people will listen to GT basketball games on weekday nights than listen to the weird national programming they put on after Chuck and Chernoff.
