A few telling stats

There are some coaching deficiencies for sure. However, it's hard to say for sure how effective a coach he is until he finally turns this roster over completely. He might be a CEO type coach who builds a program but needs to delegate. Some coaches are great recruiters but so-so X's and O's guys. Someone like Dabo needs great coordinators. That's why I'm being very patient even though we are taking 10 steps back before we can move forward. We had to rip that TO band aid completely off and it hurts.
Are you gonna blame PJ for our losses for the next two years? Dang. That’s a nice cushion for GC.

No, we won't. I also realize our backfield is Fr, Fr, So. right now. Our starting TE right now was a walk on OL long snapper last season who went on a grilled chicken and salad diet so he could perhaps see playing time as a third stringer. Our very near future best OL is a true freshman. He may be our best right now.
It would have been nice if CPJ would have left some big OL and DL, but he didn't. We have been attempting to muscle up and put weight on what we have

Talent deficiencies don’t make people commit penalties.
When we lost to THE CITADEL, I understood. It takes a coach a while to get the player turnover, but it doesn’t take a while to install his culture and philosophy on a team. It takes one season at most.

If everyone wants to blame PJ for what he left behind, he also left behind a pretty disciplined team. And GC’s philosophy and culture is not one based on discipline. It shows and it has cost us two games.

I hate to break the news to everyone, our talent isn't world's above Syracuse's talent.
I'm not saying our talent is worlds above theirs and the talent we do have is young but we are close enough to not be embarrassed by Syracuse.

I'm not a Collins hater and I'm fine giving him several years to get his players in. I do expect to see improvement. We see that with the talent we're bringing in but the game day coaching has been embarrassing and is the same öööö every game minus fsu.

All the excuses are fair when it comes the overall record but they have nothing to do with the concerns being raised about the actual game day coaching.

Here’s a few stats:

against UNC - 202 yards of total offense, 6 points
against Pitt - 171 yards of total offense, 10 points
against Tech - 357 yards of total offense, 37 points
357 yards of total offense after getting 4 turnovers isn’t super impressive or anything.

defense ain’t our #1 issue

I haven’t looked up the possessions or yards per play but I would imagine they were better against us then they were against UNC or Pitt. I seriously don’t think I could rank our issues. With the exception of the run game on offense, every other facet has been a mess and needs equal attention.

They nearly doubled their average yardage, and more than quadrupled their average scoring output. Defense may not be our #1 issue, but it is certainly an issue.

I really can't think of a position on the defense that doesn't need an upgrade. I love our current players. They play hard. However, we have no players who can disrupt an offense or that an offense has to go out of their way to account for.

What I hated about the 2pt conversion was PH trying to run to the edge. I think he had a chance if he would have turned upfield just after crossing the hashs.

Ok, I’ll say it. This looked like a shockingly unprepared team...like the ones Bill Lewis put out there. I know we have a talent gap and were missing a lot of players, but this is bad.

“talent gap”

wut. We’re the 5th most talented team in the conference. Cuse is dead last. They have 2 4* on their entire roster. Talent gap.

Maybe talented in the offensive backfield. The rest of the team?

The OL did not play poorly. Sims was having a hard time reading the 3-3-5. He was staring down receivers. He didn’t know where the pressure was coming from because he wasn’t scanning the field. He had an off day.

Despite 3 terrible TO and a laundry list of stupid penalties, we were down 3 late.

Then the D gave up their second big bomb. It was a scheme/coverage issue because the ball was thrown early. We got out coached this game. It happens. Their coaches get paid alot too.

Looking at the ATL chart, I count 7 4* players on offense, and 7 more on defense. That's 14, and it doesn't even include guys that aren't ready to play yet. I'm still struggling to understand how someone could conclude that we have a talent gap with Syracuse, of all teams. If anything, the talent gap is in our favor. We just played a horrible game.

We need to improve stingtalk as a whole... Y'all love to call the team a bunch of snowflakes, but we have a ööööty game full of turnovers and penalties and everyone on here turns into a little bitch

Camp could fill this role if given the opportunity.
Camp is nowhere near big enough to be an NFL tight end. He looks large out there because he is a muscular freak, but he is 6'2", 220lb. For comparison, Deveney is 6'6", 258lb. Darren Waller is 6'6", 255lb.
