A Player’s Mom Speaks

How many practices have you been to?

How much have you seen behind the scenes?

Is it possible that our terrible W-L record is caused by factors other than those items above that frustrate you?

You show your silliness because all that stuff you mentioned above is cooked up by the Mktg Dept and its staffers and I can guarantee you that Coaching Staff spends zero time on those things (same way your Hero spent zero time on Recruiting)

I'm not a big proponent of "the goofy stuff is why we're losing games" (I actually think the goofy stuff is largely a positive even if I don't personally like it) but I really doubt that Collins spends zero time on those things. I'm pretty sure he sees those things as playing a huge part in building GT's brand which is important for recruiting.

By the way, a lot of your arguments seem to take the form of asking a person if they have been to practices and directly observed what they are claiming, then guaranteeing they are wrong. So can you tell us what you have seen behind the scenes that allows you to guarantee that the coaching staff is not involved in all of the program's goofy/brand-building stuff?

You don’t need fancy stats fo tell you it isn’t often that:

UNC gives away 3 fumbles and a missed FG
UVA allows multiple onside kick recoveries
Clemson allows onside kick recoveries
Miami fumbles 3 times in one half or throws a pick -6 2 pt conversion
Duke misses 2 sub-40 yard FG.

We are a very lucky team this season and we’ve essentially wasted all the luck.
The more we practice, the luckier we get

Because I know how many Hrs, major College HCs put in year round to try to get the best Team on the field, develop them as best as possible, and then prepare them for that opponent, these Guys are working 14 to 18 hour Days depending on the Coach in question, all that fluff and stuff like that is delegated

Have I seen everything behind the scenes, of course not, but I would bet my Life all that fluff type hype stuff is delegated to a staffer.

Such an angry, dumb little man. Did that tantrum make you feel better?

I’ve NEVER said anything about firing any coaches, but I have said that it’s time for them to start figuring stuff out.

I’ve had season tickets for decades and haven’t missed a single home game. Outside of Covid, I’ve only missed a handful of ROAD games over those same decades. I show up to the games, I cheer for the team, and I come here and discuss what I saw.

You’re just some angry white trash whose only recourse is to lash out at strangers on the internet. I dunno if it’s funny or sad.

Don't you wish he'd get cancer?

No, because he didn’t use the word “croots.” (The jury is out on whether he has a sense of humor and/or understands hyperbole.)

Humor ≠ hyperbole. Which is it? And ya know . . . there are lots of indicia available here for humor. :lol2:  :rotfl: even :) and . There's also "j/k."

Because most adults understand that the Internet is a flat medium. And I don't know you from Adam's off ox. I don't "humorously" tell folks whom I do not know at all that I wish they's get cancer. Obviously, YMMV.

You are living in la-la land. “Academic eligibility “ is non-existent at all SEC schools and has been forever. What we’re talking about is paying players and their families. If you think all those 5-star players that sit in the bench at UGA and Bama when they could be starting at Texas, Oklahoma, Florida and other schools just because they want to play for Bama and Georgia, I’ve got swamp land I’ll sell you. The idea that it is OK to pay players has become so common at Bama that Jeremy Pruitt thought he could get away with it I just passing it out in the locker room in lunch sacks at Tennessee. The accusations were well publicized by a famous Georgia high school coach in the media last year. And unsurprisingly, absolutely nothing came from the NCAA. I don’t think there was even an investigation. The NCAA doesn’t care what goes on at The Factories. The NCAA too worried about jerseys and cotton T-shirts being mishandled by the Georgia Techs of the world and taking away their ACC championship banners.
I never hinted that Players don't get paid, in fact in multiple posts I have advocated in isolation that GT needs to create its own Network of Bagmen.

I was addressing the Academics issue only, a much larger percentage of the Players being Recruited in the 2010s and and later can Qualify for ND , Stanford, NW, BC, GT, Duke, and other school that had problems with Academic Qualifiers in the 70s and 80s, that was my only issue.

The Academics excuse is longer viable, because when we do find Elite 5* Academic Qualifiers GT's close rate on them has been miserable.

Example, Myles Murphy from Hillgrove in WCobb, same HS that produced Synjin Days & his Brother, he never considered GT for 1 second, came out of HS at 6-5 280ish playing DE and was a 5* that went to Clemson to major in Mech Engr.

If you play a position of critical need (OL & DL) and you know that you are worth 6-figures plus a new truck, you'd be a fool to trade that for the "hot air" of our 40yr plan will set you up for life, and you get to call yourself a "Tech Man".

This ain't 1950s Recruiting, it's 2021, you wanna be in the game, you gotta play, "The Game"

Hyperbole can be applied to humorous effect.

I don’t literally hope you get cancer.

Nothing much new on this front in 20+ years. There have been a very few games with really exciting in stadium atmospheres. A few great Thursday nighters and other random games. 90% plus of the game day atmosphere at BBS pales sadly in comparison to all regional peers. Prove me wrong.
