A Player’s Mom Speaks

You don't even know what kind of work he does, and you say his schedule should be flexible. You are even dumber than I thought. WOW !!! Your narcissism is really flaming now.
And BTW, I haven't missed more than 3 home games since 1962. When you reach my level of support and attendance, let me know.
I don't care what his work is. If he's reached this point in his life and he isn't working running a micro brewery in Ellijay, then work should be flexible. We play 6-7 home games per season.

There's an NFL Franchise in Ellijay?
There is the Cartecay River to tube. Maybe he can just stand at the takeout point in town if he wants to see me next summer.

BTW, Cartecay is about a 4/10 for tubing. It is OK. Kind of a lot of road noise and not the most scenic of floats

BTW, I have the mystery player's autograph on an All American Bowl sweatshirt

He didn't say he stopped attending games. He said he stopped buying season tickets.

You really need to reconsider your goal of being #1 in post count faster than anyone in StinGTalk history.
Dude , I'm on my tablet and the font is small and I misread his post, everything that an unbiased CGC supporter does , doesn't have to connect to some nefarious conspiracy.

Every time I see the post that says Vintage Tech photo, my knee jerk reaction is why is this Guy posting Va Tech photos.

I can rent a car in downtown Ellijay if he will give me his credit card
I don't think they have a rental car place there. I grew up there and go there every couple weeks because of my old parents. Maybe they have like 4 uber/lyft drivers in Easttown. You could call one of those people. If we are talking about Big John here.... that should be fun

I have absolutely no idea. Other than on occasional wreck (very rare) screwing things up, I never see any reason at all for the traffic to slow to a snail's pace, but, other than for noon games, it invariably does. I can make it from Augusta in just a little over 2 hours for noon games, but closer to 3 hours for late afternoon or evening games. And I am not the only one to notice it; every single person I know who comes from or through Augusta to get to Atlanta knows exactly what I mean when I simply say, "Panola Road". And, BTW, it's not just on Saturdays, It happens on weekdays too.
The Panola road slowdown has been a fixture now for at least 5 years. Something is definitely causing it. Many times there have been accidents near the curve before Panola.

Cause you gotta get over to get to the Cracker Barrel

Yeah, I occasionally see an accident that could be the problem, but honestly not many times. I have no idea what it is. The odd thing is that at some point, the traffic starts moving at a steady clip again, but also for no apparent reason

I think the Wikipedia article “fundamental diagram of traffic flow” might satisfy some of your curiosity.

Because they're interesting.

Without specifically addressing that particular stretch of road, I see nothing there that really explains much. Or is there a section dedicated to Panola Rd?

No, there’s not a section dedicated to Panola Rd. But there’s some basic traffic engineering theory in there that gets at “why does traffic just slow down for no reason?” with some links to further reading if you’re so inclined. The linked “traffic wave” article is pretty sparse, but probably describes the phenomenon you’re observing.

Beyond a certain traffic density, the flow becomes unstable, and a disturbance in the flow (somebody slamming on the brakes, lots of merging traffic, lane drops, etc.) causes the flow to break down.
