A thread about uga

I am the one you are referring to, but I never said that the Augusta paper provided EQUAL coverage of the mutts and the Jackets. But until 5 years ago, we at least got SOME coverage, and the times I complained to the Sports Editor at the time (dismissed after the sell out to USA Today), he at least responded to me and gave me a "door prize", so to speak, with an additional article or two about Tech for a few weeks. I honestly don't remember what kind of coverage Tech got in the Augusta paper in the 60s or 50s, but I doubt it was anywhere near parity even then.

By the way, John Davis' brother sometimes posts on here, under the name "MoverofFridge2". It would be interesting to hear what he has to say about how his family was treated when John signed with Tech.
I was not trying to call you out at all - I know you go back a ways - further than I do. My experience with the Augusta media in the time I spent there was not positive. On the matter of JD, - suffice it to say his hate for all things dwag runs far deeper than most folks around here realize. I can only assume the same goes for his bro.

I’m going to cancel my subscription to the AJC. Biggest cuck move ever…but probably a smart business decision. UGA has decades of lawyers lined up ready to take on this case pro boner.
God I hope uga decides to sue, lets see what discovery reveals about all the actual facts that are in dispute.

I would also surmise that Judd was canned due to his resume omission, not for two minor items in the article. Not so different than OLeary - bogus stuff added/omitted from resume years ago that could/should have been easily corrected after finding success.
Don't know of anyone's resume including why they left a position.
Plus, if Judd did make up stuff while at Louisville, the AJC would have known when they called around. And that kind of behavior gets around. I'm also betting Judd didn't get the job at the AJC through Indeed or Monster or LinkedIn. Rather, the AJC called him and said "we've got an opening, we'd like for you to apply." Because that's how they fill their spots. If the AJC didn't know about Judd's past transgressions, that's on them, not him.

I didn't think at all that you were calling me out. I was just letting you know that I was the one you were referring to.
Not sure why JD's brother hasn't posted on here lately. Maybe he just checks in during the football season.

No one is calling me out. öööö UGA.

You obviously don’t know many powerful people and how the state is run by lawyers.

Agreeing with the legal team from uga and calling yourself “YellowJacket4Life” should be a bannable offense.

F this guy.

Well my aunt is a Double Dwag and sits on the Appellate Court Circuit here in GA as a well respected judge and knows Jere Morehead very well. She also knows The Ugag attorney (forget his name) very well and is very familiar with the power structure from UGAA and the state itself as she was a part of the Ugag legal team years ago. But that's neither here nor there, just commenting on your first assertion.

The 2nd assertion is just laughable hyperbole on your part. At no point did I say I "agreed" with the Ugag legal team. I've only spoken on why Judd was fired and how bad the AJC now looks which props up the cesspool as the victors here. I am of the opinion that if you allege rape and rape support, for any HC of a university football program, it should be fully supported, not fluffed up with outright lies and unverifiable innuendo or "here-say".....

There's a reason he got fired and they made corrections. His article was not replete with factual information across the board for the rape allegations. Thar cannot happen in journalism especially for the states largest journalistic entity.

As far as questioning my fandom of Tech, based on my opinions on this topic in this thread, you can believe whatever it is you want to believe. I won't lose any sleep over that part. Nothing I've said here has been pro Ugag, only anti Judd/AJC for a very obvious breach of journalistic integrity on a very serious topic.

Allen Judd was a 25 yr reporter veteran at the AJC. He's won awards and isn't known for doing outlandish stories. He was on to something. UGA wants this to go away. Many readers of the AJC are Dwag alumni and fans. He was a scape goat. He should have dotted the i's and crossed the t's. They got him on a technicality that he and the AJC either couldn't verify (11 players) or wouldn't. Again where there's smoke there's fire. Hopefully it just won't go away. Reminds me of the deep state in DC. Tubberville and a few others are crafting legislation to address the NIL which has also eroded what's happening in CFB right now. The NCAA is powerless and going woke and aren't in any position to attack this. I have a feeling we're going to hear some crazy stories on the football factories before it's all said and done. From $ to women.

What has not been mentioned is the AJC’s advertisers who foot the bill for everything regarding their budget. Most of them are likely dwag supporters and were pissed when they started printing these negative stories about their “school”.

The AJC felt the heat from multiple angles and caved. So much for “freedom of the press” here in Georgia.

Wasting your time here, no one arguing with you cares about any details or nuance or AJC's integrity. They are fine with the ajc making stuff up if it harms uga. Alternatively, and this makes zero sense to me, they think nothing wrong with the reporting and uga pulled some strings leading to a partial retraction of a few details.

I don't think there's a better thread to put this, and it's not worth creating a new one for it, but In an otherwise "meh" Bradley article about SEC Days, the following few paragraphs are pretty humorous, especially the first one ---

Kiffin's Rebels started 7-0 last season. They finished 8-5. They did, however, enable Georgia Tech and Auburn in offering accelerated exits to Geoff Collins and Bryan Harsin, respectively. Kiffin was himself seen as the leading candidate to replace Harsin. He wound up staying in Oxford. He'll earn $9 million this season, there being no salary cap for coaches, either.

The point being: Kiffin is a brat and a joker and a bit of a hypocrite, but he's not wrong about college football. NIL money began as a noble concept – let's pay players above the table! – that, like many noble concepts, crashed on the shoals of unintended consequences.

Big-money boosters seized on above-the-table part, big-money folks having a keen eye for legal loopholes. Stetson Bennett came to Georgia as a walk-on and, six years later, moved to the NFL for what might or might not be a pay cut. Who saw that coming?

There's no national standard for NIL money. "Only Congress can resolve these issues," Sankey said. When you seek relief from the world's most dysfunctional body, you're in a world of hurt.

This is the worst thread in my time here. Who gives a öööö? Newsflash- young men do dumb öööö. Ignorant cesspool young men doing dumb öööö is supposed to be shocking? I think leadership does include taking responsibility, but Jesus, I thought this was a tech board. No one tries to tear the losers down. Losers try to tear winners down. This off season has to end.

There is no evidence that anything was “made up” in that story, even taking the “corrections” into account. That’s a major reason why you and that other dude are catching the flak you are.

I don't respect her during football season and especially Thanksgiving weekend.

Judd was fired from his position with a paper in Louisville before the AJC gig for doing the same thing he did here. You can Google it if you'd like.

Oh I know. The little brother, obsessed with all things Ugag syndrome is prevalent in quite a few here. Criticizing the largest journalistic entity in out state for making things up apparently means you are a buttsniffer fan now

There is no evidence that anything was “made up” in that story, even taking the “corrections” into account. That’s a major reason why you and that other dud are catching the flak you are.

So, the fact they said his claim of 11 cases of rape allegations being unverifiable is not making things up? Lol, ok. That's an interesting. He also spliced together 2 different soundbites from an interaction of a cop with a player to make it out as if said player was given preferential treatment. The full audio showed that to not be the case. Is that not making something up?

I couldn't care less about catching flak, I'm just posting my opinion. Gimme all the poop and clown reactions one can muster, I'm still gonna voice my opinion.

Those two support sex offenders.

Haha, yep.....Ya got me.......

Poof, it's gone. Time to move on to the next thing. AJC is as dumb as hell publishing this story anyway. Like someone said earlier 80% of their readers and advertisers support UGA. They probably have 10 more years left on their life cycle, why commit Sepuku now?
