The bunch picking us in the Gator still has UGA in the CFP. Well … they must think we beat UGA to put us in the Gator, and if we beat UGA they won’t make the CFP.

Or they could be thinking that other teams might lose to put us in the Gator? Just potentiating

Fenway could be cool despite horrible weather I suppose. The loss to Syracuse really stings. If not for that, I think we're looking at El Paso. Gator doesn't seem likely without a win in Athens. I'll be happy if we at least don't get stuck in a pre-Christmas bowl like last year.

U(sic)ga is not mathematically eliminated from the SEC championship game. If they win it, they are in the CFP.

I say this every year - I don’t know why people post bowl projections from various sites here. They’re literally WORSE than me or you making projections, because we at least know about and consider the historical politics and preferences of the various bowls. All these writers just seem to randomly slot teams into bowls based on nothing more than tie-ins.

This. The bowl prognosticators generally ignore the historical preferences of bowls and just align bowl selection order and conference standings. There is no understanding of what the bowls and conferences actually want.

BC will always get shafted by the acc. So will we. UL has to have a good record or their in the shithouse. Same with Pitt and Cuse.

I have no hate for VT and Clemson in bowl selection. They travel well regardless of their season. Because of that they get better bowl selections. And those better bowls draw more interest, so it is a positive feedback loop.

I agree. GT is somewhat popular in the NE - to the extent that anything college football related can be.

Clemson's conference schedule is complete with a 7-1 record. Miami needs to beat WF and Cuse to finish 7-1. If SMU doesn't lose to both UVa and Cal, the ACC Championship selection could go deep into the tie breakers:

1. Head-to-head competition between the two tied teams (none played)

2. Win percentage versus all common opponents (doesn't look like that would factor in)

3. Win percentage versus common opponents based upon their order of finish (overall conference win-percentage, with ties broken) and proceeding through other common opponents based upon their order of finish

4. Combined win percentage of conference opponents

5. The tied team with the higher ranking by the Team Rating Score metric provided by SportSource Analytics following the conclusion of regular season games

6. The representative shall be chosen by a draw as administered by the commissioner or commissioner’s designee

Wouldn't it end at 2 in this scenario with Clemson having a loss to Louisville and Miami having beat Louisville?

Last time we played the Gator Bowl was Mad Pooper (WV) in 2006 or against Kentucky in 2016?

ACC could have 14 teams bowl eligible. GT could finish anywhere from 4 to 9 depending on this week and next. Crazy.

Was pulling for Pitt today … they sure laid an egg. So UL is 5-3 but beat us head to head.
