ACC Transfer Portal Winners & Losers

And y'all do realize your argument isn't internally consistent?
This was well documented, not going to waste the time to research it for you. There were many players the coaching staff didn't reach out to that had been committed. ADTS made sure the scholarship offers were honored, but clearly a couple of the OL got the message they weren't wanted based on the new staff not reaching out to them at all and went elsewhere. There were even some guys who still signed with us despite not having talked to the new staff.

Who is doubting this?? The new staff gave some guys the message they weren't wanted, that's the point. There are some guys who were not given the message they weren't wanted though were there not?

Collins actually did do an in-home visit with Black. He decided to put off signing til February and that's when Collins ghosted him. Dowdy had the opportunity to visit campus the weekend that all the other commits did, but he wanted to play in a shrine game instead. Communication was cut off after that.

Both could have signed but Collins wasn't going to chase them. They overestimated their position.

Let me rephrase so it's more clear:
The new staff did not pull any offers. They simply just didn't talk to some of the recruits. A handful of those still chose to sign.

Some were not discouraged to sign, others were. Go back and look at our spring practice, do you really think we had a group of guys on roster the staff was giving the cold shoulder and subliminal message to leave??

You have absolutely nothing to back that up.

You have absolutely nothing to back that up.

And neither do you; but I don't remember anything official in the '404 the culture' hype about giving CPJ recruits the brush off. It seemed more like the juice crew was trying to encourage everyone on the roster to be ATL. It sure did seem like a couple of OL recruits were discouraged from signing though.

No, he didn’t. He won the bowl game with players he recruited in prior years. He basically stopped recruiting his last two years.

You have absolutely nothing to back that up. Based on the guys still playing quality minutes last year, I think you are wrong. I honestly think CPJ recruited hoping one of his proteges would be brought in and carry on his system or a variation of it. CPJ would not have wanted his protege or more importantly the option to fail.

Look at the number of OL recruited during his last two years.

Sure. Go right ahead

I did this in a previous thread. Go look it up. Several others have done it too. Usually once the excuse crew is shown that our OL recruiting numbers look remarkably like Clemson & Bama's the argument goes to 'yeah but...' mode. So go look it up and report back to us what you find, CPJ's last 4 years of OL recruits versus Bama or some other top programs numbers.

There was one poster on here who tried to argue that Clemson takes 10-15 OL recruits every year. Then there is a group of clowns that say only the recruits who are 6'4"+ and 320+ lbs count. Then there is my favorite "it takes 6-10 years to develop an offensive line" crew. Whatever excuse you need to make you feel better.

I’m not digging up your analysis but here’s a quick comparison on just quantities of OL recruited:

2015- Alabama (4), Tech (2)
2016 - Alabama (5), Tech (2)
2017 - Alabama (5), Tech (4)
2018 - Alabama (2), Tech (2)
4 year total - Alabama (16), Tech (10)

Great, now look how much it has changed since CPJ left:

2019 - Alabama (5), Tech (0)
2020 - Alabama (3), Tech (6)
2021 - Alabama (5), Tech (2)
2022 - Alabama (3), Tech (3)

I left 2019 off on purpose. That was CPJ’s class. Even if you leave the 2 OL he recruited, it was pathetic. Take away 2019 and CGC’s numbers match Alabama’s. Thanks for proving my point.
