He's one of them. Unless throwing picks isn't an issue for you. He also had some bad throws on 3rd down that should've been easy conversions.
Sims looked good running the option yesterday, but his pass reads are still suspect.
Try to understand the Game a little better, playing QB at the P5 level is very hard and he's just 2 yrs removed from HS
A "bad read" is when the QB makes the wrong decision, or throws to the wrong WR based on what else is available.
A "bad read" cannot be assumed just because the play wasn't successful or wasn't as successful as you would like!
Amazing that you can claim "bad read" when it is very unlikely that you have access to the All-22 Tape that Coaches use to evaluate players.
There's a huge difference between a BAD RESULT and a BAD READ.
I admit he had a tough day throwing the ball, the pocket was getting caved in , preventing him from stepping into throws, and the pressure up the middle after our Center went out was speeding up his clock, so it lead to a bad day all around.
Despite this bad day, with 50 seconds to go and the Game on the line he came on clutch as Tom Brady (you ignored that), he made 2 big throws for big yardage that were wiped out by a low snap and by a holding call,
very few QBs in College make those throws with 50 seconds to go, yet all you see is the "bad reads" but don't see the guy with huge upside and icewater in his veins, the guy with the clutch gene, the guy that still makes big plays when the game is on the line
The team knows who the guy is, and Sims is the guy.
Just curious, when Gibbs was 10 carries for negative 10 yards a few Games back were you one of the Guys on here claiming that he was overrated and we need to play Mason more?
The truth is we don't deserve Sims, guys with that Talent usually end up playing for an Ohio State, Texas A&M , programs with established OLines that can give their QB a chance to make plays.
2 weeks ago Brady didn't look like Brady when he didn't have a clean pocket vs the Saints.
Learn to watch the entire Game and elevate yourself to higher plane than the typical, "blame the OC, blame the QB" for everything that happens in a Game.
In summary, he had a bad Game, yeah it happens, but he kept battling to end and made clutch plays that were wiped out due to OLine incompetence.
To further summarize, a bad result from a Play doesn't always mean there was a "bad read" by the QB
