They put that stuff in at Georgia Southern and the first summer camp they had, it melted the players’ shoes

The Marlins decided to ditch natural grass. Hard Rock Stadium is already on their second type of grass since 2016 when the first, highly touted, grass failed miserably. The surface was horrible on our last two trips down. The NFL has almost cancelled at least two games due to the field being so bad. They actually use artificial lighting like many European stadiums and it helped Miami’s stadium last year
Turf gets us recruits?Get over it or offer to pay for the upkeep of the natural turf.
I'd prefer natural grass, but if it gets us recruits and helps bottom line finances then I'm ok with the new artificial
I don't like it for many reasons but the heat retention of the stuff is terrible. In September it will be unbearable. As far as recruiting I'd say there is a high percentage of high schools in the 404 that use this stuff.
Turf gets us recruits?
The Georgia Institute of Technology can't pay for the upkeep of natural grass on Grant Field?
We need to turn Bobby Dodd Stadium into a concert hall?
Look, this place used to be the premier entertainment venue in the south, and the entertainment was GEORGIA TECH FOOTBALL.
If Geoff Collins can deliver on what he's been selling, it can be that way again, but...
WE SHOULD HAVE NATURAL GRASS.
Were those all grey uni's not unorthodox enough? Just kidding.Pre SEC drop out, you are correct.
But GT was too smart to stay in SEC.
We were in the SEC for, I believe, 32 years. We have been in the ACC for something like 41 years.
We have yet to have rivalries (maybe - maybe CU) anywhere near the rivalries we had with bama, auburn, ut, ugag .
So, yeah, it appears we need to do some unorthodox things
They don't need a turf field because they are not in an urban area and do not have the opportunities that we have for revenue generating events. I hope we host the state champioships soon. We should also look at potential ESPN matchups between high school teams in different states.I said there is no reason why the can’t have a great grass field like Iowa State and Penn state. Those teams don’t “Need” a turf field.

I’ll blame the fake turfSome fans just need something to bitch and moan about. I’ll save my bitching and moaning for INTs, fumbles, and stupid plays.
At least it’s not Russell brand turf.Free? Nope.
Someone sold our souls for it.
TS oversees a department desperately in need of money to raise prestige of sagging programs, and this is part of it. It’s not ideal but neither is falling behind everybody else, and that has already happened.I’m old and I don’t like change. Really thought I was going to like TS when he was hired but that has changed. Too many changes, too fast and many without thought of the fans. Probably happening all over but I only see it at Tech. Thursday games, Friday games, “home” games off campus.......and the list goes on and on. Like I say, I am old but so much change has brought me to a place where I no longer enjoy the product being offered.
