He makes some good points, but I dont agree with his point about black coaches only getting "SH***Y" jobs.
Karl Dorrel- UCLA
Ty Willingham- ND, Wash, Stanford
Sly Croom- Miss St
Randy Shannon- Miami
Ron Prince- K State
Last time I checked those were all great jobs except for maybe Stanford and Miss St. However, Stanford is very prestigious Pac10 school and Miss St was a perennial Top 20 team in the mid-late 90's. Both of those schools have the potential to be consistent bowl teams.
I do hope more black coaches get into Div I so that one day race is not even mentioned in discussions like this.
Doubt you could call U Dub prestigious. At least not in recent years. However, there was a time when they outsold the Seahawks.
UCLA has been mid-Pac in recent years. And we've absolutely pwned Miami!
Bottom line, several of these coaches are solid. They'll return a winning season and get to a bowl. But none are what I'd consider outstanding. This isn't to say that they're aren't good black coaches out there. Just that the FBS hasn't found it's Obama.
