bad news

Did Navy have any good recruits that might follow PJ to Tech?

If this is true then what this tells me that Gailey was running a looser ship than I thought.
You have no idea man, especially with offensive personnel. Not surprised to see that Peek may transfer, but it doesn't bother me. Believe me it's his loss, not ours.

BeBe and Donley are different matters, because they actually contribute to the team. PJ's offense isn't very attractive to receivers so I could definitely see BeBe leave. However Donley could just as easily transfer to the othe side of the ball and play Safety for us. That would be lethal.

Young kids today are so soft and not disciplined. That is too bad if they leave. I for one if were on the team and they wanted to leave I personally would help them pack. You don't want to be here? Fine lets get you out of here.

I can't wait for PJ to bring the discipline back. We need these boys to grow some nads and start playing big boy football.
yeah, some of them will be in for a rude awakening and that is a good thing.

...The Navy Blog guy (Who has proven to be pretty reliable) is pointing to PJ bringing most of his offensive assts. to GT but leaving the defensive staff at Navy.
...

I read that too. None of the O-staff was at the Navy presser but all the D-staff was. Don't know what that means but I know what I HOPE it means.

I really hope you're right on this one.

Well, he was quite a big contributer this year...

I also wondered if there would be some shock to a change in discipline.

Yep, some might even have to get haircuts (gasp) and others may have to prove that they can act like an adult before they earn the privilege of being treated like one.

I doubt this is true.

And if it is, then we've got some soft players on the team, and they can have all the fun they like riding the pine somewhere else.

We probably lost what, 2, maybe 3 games this year due to lack of discipline?

I do hope he doesn't institute a haircut rule, though. I kinda like having the dreadlock brigade, I think it helps our urban image. Just make sure they're not smoking pot during games or practice.

I read that too. Thinking about it now, if the majority of his offensive staff from Navy is coming too, that probably means that we'll be seeing an offensive plan pretty similar to what they ran at Annapolis. Surely they'll make them some changes based on our talent on hand, but I doubt that new staff will be tossing away a bunch of their old schemes.

Not really groundbreaking analysis there, I suppose.

Not really :p. During his press conference, he emphasized three or four times how important he thinks running the ball is and also said that "the option will be a big part of what we do."

Who freakin cares what kind of offense we run if we score over 30-35 points a game.

Boy, we just never seem to run out of things to agonize over.

not shocked about peek

the rest I am mildly surprised

chan was running an undisciplined loose ship IMO

these boys were babied more than coached IMO as well.

This is a fact especially for offensive players. Tenuta did well with discipline.

If a player wants to transfer, I don't see that as a problem because I wouldn't want a player around who didn't 110% want to be there...

99th'ed. That's the main reason all of the old guard, with a few exceptions, needs to go.

the rumors are true...

hopefully, these guys actually LISTEN to PJ when he meets with them...

Yes, techgold, one player has planned on transferring at least since the VA game...

Also, some of these dudes QUIT going to class since the firing of Gailey...I just hope someone of DRad's staff follows up to get these kids back in line.

There seems to be a lot of misinformation going around between the players. It's simply untrue, for example, that you don't have to sit out a year if your coach is fired. If Peek transfers to UF, he'll have to sit out a year in addition to his redshirt year last year.

FWIW, I also think there will be far more passing than the 90/10 run ratio PJ had at Navy. WVU is definitely a "run" school but they still fling around a good bit.

Kinda makes a mockery of the term Student Athlete, doesn't it. I think the new regime will change that and the Tech SA will again be one who fits the total person concept that Homer Rice pitched.

Did you notice PJ mentioned making sure everyone finished up the fall semester strong academically? This guy gets it....

this explains alot as far as our offense goes. They have zero commitment to the school or their teammates if this stuff is true. It explains why our offense looked like crap last 6 years in ALL the big games. The games where the guys have to come together and toughen up. He ran the offense too much like he was still working with grown professionals.
