this explains alot as far as our offense goes. They have zero commitment to the school or their teammates if this stuff is true. It explains why our offense looked like crap last 6 years in ALL the big games. The games where the guys have to come together and toughen up. He ran the offense too much like he was still working with grown professionals.
I notice you at least put in the "if this stuff is true." The problem is that you're taking a shot at the kids either way without any proof of anything. And you're taking a particularly nasty shot. Oh, and this isn't about whether the kids can take the criticism. I'm sure they can take it just fine. It's just bad form to make accusations and fling insults on "ifs".
I just recently left my employer even though I really loved most of my coworkers. I worked my butt off for those guys and felt strong camaraderie with them. Unfortunately the management was very unpleasant to work for. They didn't do anything to foster a team mentality and in fact did the opposite. That's fine for some people who don't mind that atmosphere or like it. But I prefer to work in a team environment and so, after much hand wringing and internal debate, I decided to leave. I didn't leave projects hanging in the middle. I made sure my replacement was enabled. I left all my materials intact for them to use on the computer hard drive and even put in all the customer materials I had collected into places in their intranet for easy reuse. Not only that but I took calls from my replacement for a couple of weeks after I left to help him get through some things. I had plenty of commitment to my teammates but I hated being at work every day because the management.
So when I think of kids in our program who might want to transfer or are at least thinking about it my first inclination is to look at it from their viewpoint to see if I can understand it and also give them credit for being young adults and possibly having good reasons for feeling uncomfortable. By giving them that respect I get respect back and have a better chance of understanding and helping get them through the problems and making them feel critical to the success of the team, which they probably don't feel like they are anymore. They probably feel that with the new philosophy they won't be needed as much anymore and most kids want to contribute.
Of course there might be some who just don't feel like playing in a bit more disciplined system and those kids it is best just to let them go.
