Bama/GT Series Canceled?

And people on here got mad when Colin Peek said Alabama had better fans than us. If the shoe fits....

I'm trying to think of why I'd give a fark what Peek thinks and don't quite get anything.

If GT want to be a D2 team, then become a D2 team and stop playing around. We're dodging Alabama, perhaps. We are pussies if we do that.

My money isn't GT's money. I've been buying season tix for years, but this is crap.

Georgia Tech wants out of series with Alabama (Posted on 4/27/10 at 10:18 p.m.)
According to Coach Saban during his speech at the Gadsden stop on the Crimson Caravan (yes, it existed before the Tiger Prowl), Georgia tech wants to cancel the 2013-14 series with Alabama.

He also stated that a plaque would be added near his statue the lists on the name of players and coaches with the 2009 team. Similar plaques will be added to the other statues.

No link, just passing along info from people that were there.

The point is that Alabama fans go to see Alabama play. Tech "fans" like you apparently go to see Tech's opponent play.

I don't really care IF the series with Alabama is cancelled or not. What I do care about is what team would replace them. I only buy season tickets when the home schedule has some good opponents on it. I'll be less interested if they replace Alabama with a team like South Florida or Louisville.

I don't live in Atlanta so I want my bang for the buck to make a bunch of trips. Every other year our schedule is a good one. This years will bite.

I pay to see Tech play a game. I don't pay to see Tech play a scrimmage.

The fact that 92,000 Alabama fans went to the spring game may mean they are better fans. To me it means that they have nothing else to do in Alabama.

At least for your trip you have all interstate. Me I have towns like Section, Rainsville, Ft Payne etc. Me I have lots and lots of 2 lane so it makes a 3 1/2 hour trip at times into 4 1/2 hour trip and once in a while even longer.

Tech fans: we supposedly make more money than all the other schools, but we spend less on football and complain about who we play. And if we don't like the schedule, we use that as an excuse to hide the fact that we don't take football seriously.

This.

Wanna hear the two games I saw in 2008?

Mississippi State.
Duke.

You gotta do what you gotta do.

If we were playing Slippery Rock I'd still go. Tech is Tech and no other team can take their place.

I was at FSU, where hotels and motels really screw you good, and Vanderbilt. I prefer the trip to Nashville any day over the trip to Tallahassee.

F$u was an awesome trip. Eye candy and a freaking shootout. Stay with a coed next time, you'll have more fun

Pretty girls, for sure, but Tallahassee sux compared to Nashville. My wife won't go to Tallahassee since the place is so boring, so a coed may be the answer. Several little bars around, but that's about it.

Enjoyed Nashville much more. At 44 years old, hanging out with drunk frat boys (Tallahassee) doesn't beat the nightlife of Nashville.

Tally was a great trip b/c finally beating the Noles at Doak was epic, but hittin' the strip in Nashville on Halloween night was an event all itself aside from beating Vandy.

Apparently they have something like GT's Coach Caravan or whatever and it was announced there that GT backed out.

It isn't a done deal. No one has backed out of anything yet. All Saban said was that we were TRYING to back out of it. After thinking a lot about this, it would make a LOT more sense from a both a monetary and competition standpoint for Bama to be trying to get out of it. But, like I said, no one knows for sure.
