Would have been a really fun matchup under CPJ, but now...do not want

Pretty sure the ACC offered us up to that new bowl game in Vladivostok - the Tundra Bowl to play U of Siberia Yaks - an up and coming program that just moved up to FBS made up of former NFL players. Kickoff at 3:37am on Friday Dec 13th.

Annapolis is really beautiful around Christmas time is the only saving grace. They do a good job with decorations and such in the downtown area.

Brett McMurphy: Military Bowl (Dec. 28; Annapolis, MD) vs. Army

Annapolis is an interesting place to visit if you've never been there; but playing Army doesn't excite me much. I spent a week there doing work at the Naval Academy living in a bed & breakfast that dated back to the 1700's. A few interesting bars & restaurants, and a walkable town, we parked the car in a local parking deck and it stayed parked until we left.

I am shocked (not really) that this is becoming a popularity contest.

"Becoming?"

It's been that way for decades. The closest we came to objectivity was the BCS computers which got out-voted by coaches who don't watch all the games anyway.

The ACC’s incompetence, bad bowl lineup, and lack of defined bowl pick structure (which is intentional so that Duke bowl can favor the NC schools) is going to result in GT being sent to some outpost bowl game with an uninspiring opponent. And then the ACC will justify that with “Tech doesn’t travel” bullshit.

I know, it's like a self-fulfilling prophecy.

"Alright, let's send this team from the Southeast to Detroit, San Francisco, Boise or El Paso....... where the heck are their fans!?"

I thought last year worked out okay, though we were pretty much happy to be in any bowl.

Tampa is close to home, and a decent winter destination. Boise is not.

Yeah a winnable game in a warm weather destination is the bare minimum. Fortunately, neither Boise nor Detroit are tied to the ACC anymore. I wouldn't be thrilled with Boston or NY either, but still better than Detroit.
