Howard had no choice but to transfer from KSU, like Ewers will have no choice but to go into the Draft or Portal. KSU had already moved on to the next QB (Johnson) like Texas has no choice but to move onto Manning. Both Johnson and now Manning would have both ended up in the Portal. Neither school wants to lose the next multi year starter.

Ewers could pull a Beck and get top dollar to go elsewhere in 2025 making more $$$ in CFB vs a mid to late round NFL bench pick.
