Butch Jones ded

Isnt his wife gone now? She always walked around Knoxville like she was horrified by the smell and afraid to touch anything. Perhaps he does a better job with her gone.
Yeah, she left him. Her and I had a rebound fling that was fun for a while but I had to cut her loose, got too clingy.

not surprised but looks like butch has a scorched earth policy.

As Butch Jones was in the process of informing his staff and others of his departure from the program, it seems he found some time to reach out to players he had gotten to commit to Tennessee in the upcoming recruiting cycle. And rather than reaffirm the players’ decisions to commit to the program, Jones went the other way and allegedly started advising them to re-open their recruitment.
“I spoke with Coach Jones about 30 minutes ago,” the Orlando Dr. Phillips defensive back said about 12:30 Sunday afternoon. “He said he didn’t really expect that to happen, but it did so he told me to find a place to go, quickly … and that if he gets anything he will contact me.

Sounds like good advice. Tennessee may not want those players. Those kids need to find a spot somewhere.

Exactly. A commitment is worthless both on the kid’s and school’s part. Look out for yourself cause the school will drop your ass in a second.

That isn’t unusual. A kid I coached was a Southern Miss commit when Fedora bailed for UNC. He stuck with Southern Miss and the new coach chose to “go in a different direction.”

So, you have to assume that you are not going to be picked up by the new administration.

Damn, Tennessee can chew through some coaches.

I don't see any current SEC coaches going over there. They have a lot of unrealistic expectations. Hell, they ran Phil Fulmer off and he won them a National Championship and damn near played for another one in 2001. In 2007 (the year before he was fired) they played in the SECCG.

It's like the SEC will have one or two coaches who seem to be on fire and suddenly all the other teams think that is somehow the standard. In Fulmer's case it was Meyer and now it's Saban.

Unrealistic mother ööööers in that conference.

I wish St. Richt would have adopted Butch's policy on his way out of Georgia, but instead he helped convince all of them to stay and give Kirbs a chance.

"No, I'm not taking you to Miami. South Florida talent > Georgia talent"

How’d that work out for Eason? Dude got screwed.

It’s in the best interest of the kids to reconsider their choice if a major coaching change happens. This “commit to the school not the coach” mantra is all BS.

True. Even if the new coach keeps you, hes liable to favor his recruits over you.

Yeah, totally unlike other fanbases. Imagine how other fanbases must look at our occasional dissatisfaction with CPJ.

The difference is that the carping about Tech football never really leaves the message boards. We practically have to boo coaches on a jumbo-tron over DUI messages to get heard.
