Can You Guys Handle the Truth?...

No-that's not right. I am saying that with expansion the ACC becomes a premier football conference and WE at Tech can use it to attract a coach who likes to win and win big. Let's just say we'll see and leave it at that.

I'm basically neutral on the issue and will be until something remotely concrete comes along for me to base support or protest of this on. That and knowing who this coach is.

Didn't TS JUST take that job up in Oregon ?
So he would immediately leave there and come here ?
That, IMO , doesn't seem very likely...

Is there a scenario anybody can see where that would happen ?

We need to quit fantasizing about Ralph returning to GT ! He is at his alma mater, just getting started good on the job he has always wanted and it would be beneath us to try and hire him away. We'll have to wait for his grandson to start coaching, after one of his four daughters gets married ! And yes, he, o'leary, and Frank Beamer all still have houses over on Lake Oconee, on the same cove near to each other.

Selah!

Just from what I've heard, the GT job is the one job Stansbury would jump at under any circumstances. His main weakness at this point is that he's a little youngish for the position but he may be the future. He might be the guy.
I'd like to hear some more comment on him. He's been around TECH a good bit and apparently, according to his bio, played for Curry. There's yet to be a buzz on this man.

Goldeagle, one day many many years ago a young man fantasized about walking on the moon.. everyone told him he was crazy & to quit fantasizing about such an outlandish dream.. fortunately that man wasn't you...

Yeah, but fantasizing didn't get it done. Figuring out how to make it happen did. If there actually is a way to get Fridge back at some time and people are working on it that's one thing. Don't suppose any of us really know what's going on. If Chan were to leave, I'd love to have Ralph back. My guess is it's a slim to none chance. But if I'm wrong, great. I hope somebody is also considering other options if the money men have plans for a coup. I'd hate to think all our eggs are in that basket.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">you have a lot of nerve talking people down like that after your wonderfully blunt and brutally honest post which revealed your selfish attitude towards ma tech.

you do understand that o'leary, friedgen, anybody for that matter do not agree with your wonderful philosophy.

thankfully you're just another nobody on a message board and will never amount to be a someone with power or authority. amen

As much as I loved having the fridge here at Tech, he is not, under any circumstances coming back. When he leaves the Maryland job, he will retire IMO.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">so what does it take to dream and design a successful football team then?

an utter disregard towards graduation rates? using "student" athletes for purely selfish entertainment? no need to think about their future as a member of the society? no need to think about the fact that they are representatives of our institution?

as long as they entertain us ..

is that what it takes man?

I am hearing that something is in the works. This involves big time influence having meetings with Clough. You may be right Gnome.

I guess today's Schultz column lands some credence to Gnome's post. Hey Gnome, any updates? Who is the football coach?
