Catchall Deion Sanders Thread

I see you ignored my NIL facts

NIL isn't on the athletic departments books. One of the pro-Deion arguments is that if (when) he leaves CU will be in much better shape. NIL doesn't impact the AAs budget. And without Deion around to goose NIL, it will diminish significantly. How much it may help in recruiting means little if he doesn't deliver results on the field. Businesses aren't stupid - they aren't going to fund NIL if it doesn't improve their sales.

And reported amounts aren't "facts". Let's see the contracts between the players and the businesses and the players' 1099s and W-2s.

I don't really give a crap about any of this, but there is nothing I enjoyed more in my career than beating those ignorant of business financials over the head with actual data. This is interesting because y'all are pointing at sources that are pure marketing BS - conflating "value" with revenue, verbal statements instead of audited financials, etc.

I'll take a look at your NIL "facts". Likely just more marketing numbers that can't be proven.

This didn't take long:

This is the ranking that Shedeur is #2 and Travis Hunter is #6.

It's an algorithm value, not actual money the athletes are going to receive.

" While the algorithm includes deal data, it does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals athletes have completed to date, nor does it set an athlete’s NIL valuation for their entire career. The On3 NIL Valuation calculates the optimized NIL opportunity for athletes relative to the overall NIL market and projects out to as long as 12 months into the future. "

How Do I Increase My On3 NIL Valuation?
"Performance in an athlete’s arena will always lead to the biggest increase in an On3 NIL Valuation. Showing out at a high level in key games on the national stage will lead to a significant increase. Another example is the impact of being nationally ranked at a position. Rankings are based on continuity and consistency of performance

Athletes who constantly market themself and position themselves by doing the work and getting deals will see a jump in their valuation. Not everyone needs to be the top athlete in their sport to generate NIL income. By building strong NIL portfolios and verifying deals in the On3 Athlete Network, student-athletes can increase their On3 NIL Valuation and market rate."

A coach's success in measured by wins. It's the only thing that matters and it's how they are compared to their peers. 4 wins is not success. It doesn't matter what Colorado did last year. If he performs similarly next year, he will likely be on the hot seat, because that level of wins is considered failing..... Especially with the amount of money he is being paid.

Wins are the only currency that matter. So far, there are 4. The projections of all these possible future wins are akin to a hot stock tip given by someone who is emotionally invested in the company. The celebrity worship juice is strong.

One more item from the ON3 NIL list page:

" The On3 NIL Deal Tracker lists all NIL Deals across the NCAA for college and high school athletes being reported by players, collectives, agents and media. On3 does NOT disclose deal financial terms. Financial data is undisclosed and private to the athlete."

Sort of like recruits reporting their offers to ratings services.

Y'all got any claims that aren't fluff?

It's the best data we have and the best data an upcoming recruit has.. like I said 4x now the next best measuring stick is next year's recruiting class
