Catchall Deion Sanders Thread

But what exactly is your point? Just that they are not world beaters? No one is saying they are national championship material or the best team in the country.

They went 4-8 in 2021, then 1-11 in 2022 and were considered to be one of the worst teams in college football. Now, in Deion's second season, they are 6-2. Sure, maybe those 6 wins came against a soft schedule, but who cares? When you start from 1-11, all you want is wins. Deion's getting them as well as selling out the stadium every Saturday.

I don't know what the future holds, but right now I don't see how you can give the Deion hire anything but an A. They went from laughingstock and nothing but losses to relevance, wins, and money. 6-2 is a great record for them regardless of schedule; looking back to the beginning of the season you predicted they'd only go 5-7 in this thread.

Even if Deion were to leave after this season they'd still be in a much better place than they were when he got there.
Maybe you can go to our game with them next season and give Deion a pregame hand job.

Character matters. In the fullness of time, we remember the great coaches like Bobby Dodd and Paul Johnson not just for their records, but also for their character. Deion Sanders is a narcissist, and narcissists don't make good leaders because they care about themselves much more than anyone else or any greater purpose. Deion is concerned with elevating himself and his kids at the expense of others which is not right. Do you really think he cares about Colorado?

Listen, I agree that he has turned Colorado into a minimum 6 win team this year (already at 6 obviously), and the TV ratings are there. He’s managed to get people in the seats. Those are really all that matters to the school. Problem is, the way he’s doing it has irked a lot of people.

1. Throwing players off the team/would not even talk to ones who stayed last year.
2. Threw players he brought in via the Portal and minimal HS recruiting under the bus for his bad decisions. Reference his comments about the OL unit last year. RB now at Kansas State (Edwards).
3. Deflecting all blame to the assistant coaches.
4. Demoting the OC Lewis (now the HC at SDSU) to let your son call the plays in the huddle.
5. Zero in-home visits. Recruits need to just go to him instead?
6. Banning media because they were affiliated to CBS.
7. Focusing most of the efforts on the Portal to fill needs. The model likely won’t work long-term. Has to be a balance of the 2 between HS/Portal.

Is this current version of Colorado heading into week 10 better than GT without King right now? Probably. They definitely are better on offense at the moment. GT’s D ( 9 games vs Colorado’s 8) is better overall.

We’ll see how the next 10 months play out. For Colorado’s sake, hopefully he stays in Boulder. I just have a feeling that he leaves as his son and Hunter head to the NFL.

That I will agree with. My opinion hasn't changed in terms of wanting him here; I don't like how he does things. I just think making fun of him for having a 6-2 record because he hasn't beaten a team with a winning record yet is a little silly because when you start from 1-11 and worst in the country, 6-2 is nothing to sneeze at.

And saying this:

So how many wins does Colorado have over teams with a winning record? Oh yeah…..It’s still 0. So this weekend is the biggest game for Prime as an HC against mighty 5-2 Cincy.

Then saying that beating Cincy doesn't count as beating a team with a winning record because the season isn't over yet is kind of ridiculous.

You can't say it's their biggest game of his tenure because Cincinatti is 5-2 and Colorado hasn't yet beaten a team with a winning record, then when they win say it doesn't count as beating a team with a winning record. Thats some serious goalpost moving. I mean, you yourself said it was the biggest game of his tenure!

To be fair, Deion isn’t all about his sons. You can add Hunter, Horn, etc into the mix. Those are his players. Do you think the school really cares about Deion? No. They know this is a short-term boom. Just like for Deion it’s just a job. It’s no different than most of us. Do our companies truly care about us long-term? No. Everyone is replaceable. CFB shows that every December when the coaching carousel starts.

I guarantee you, if FSU and Norvell decide to move on, Deion will be the first person in line to try and get that job. He does care about FSU.

Cincy being the biggest game was sarcasm. No one thinks Satterfield is a good HC. The Cincy fans have been ready to move on from him before this year. That was a bad hire from the start when Fickell left for Wisconsin.

Have you looked at Cincy’s last 4 games? They will be underdogs in every game.

Colorado has played bigger games over the last 1.5 years (P12 schedule last year).

A month ago, the final 4 games (Texas Tech, Utah, Kansas, Oklahoma State) all looked like losses. Texas Tech is now the only team remaining with a winning record. Oklahoma State and especially Utah being as down as they are is surprising. Really not sure what happened to Kansas.

So yes, Colorado should at minimum split the final 4 to finish at worst 8-4.

Sure, he cares about the star players because they contribute to his image, just like his sons do. I doubt he cares that much about the guys not seeing the field.

I actually am planning to go to that game. It's the most attractive away game on the schedule.
I bet it is attractive. Giving a former All American and your crush coach a handy in Boulder has to be a dream come true.

I wonder how much any coach cares about players who do not contribute much to the team’s results. I know they talk about loving all the guys but I imagine that is just lip service to promote good will and help his public image. If anything Deion is just being a little more honest.

His son injuring a security guard and then seeking bankruptcy just reinforces what I already thought of Deon.

Wow. They are favored against Texas Tech? Do you have your sunglasses and hat on for that epic game today?

Colorado still has beaten ZERO teams who have finished with a winning record. I will say, that will likely end this year.

Nobody has "finished" the season yet you öööötard

You continue to be a complete dumb@#$. In 1.75 years at Colorado, they have beaten exactly ZERO, I’ll remind you again, ZERO teams who have finished with a winning season. So if you can actually read what has been said 100x over, that included that epic final season in the P12.

As I just said, that will likely end this year. Ya know, probably beating a team who finishes with a mighty 7-5 record.

Now go back and celebrate those big wins over mighty 5-4 Cincy and 4-5 UCF. Rofl
