Catchall Deion Sanders Thread

So how many wins does Colorado have over teams with a winning record? Oh yeah…..It’s still 0. So this weekend is the biggest game for Prime as an HC against mighty 5-2 Cincy.

They’ll likely be favored every game from here on out.

Get Texas Tech off the bye and after playing Iowa State.

Well damn. Colorado needs to start losing now so we can keep bagging on Deion. Cheering a coach to lose keeps the blood flowing for some of the folks here.

We've gone from saying Deion sucks because hhe doesn't win games to saying he sucks because he doesn't beat teams with winning records to saying he sucks because the teams with winning records he beats aren't good enough.

I don't particularly like Deion or the way he runs his program, but he took over an absolutely abysmal team and has them at 6-2 in his second season. I think we need to give him some credit at this point.

Oklahoma St, Kansas, Utah, Texas Tech are Colorado’s remaining games. Combined, these teams are 5-15 in conference, 14-18 overall. Colorado should finish no worse than 8-4.

Colorado likely 9-3. Toughest game left is road trip to Kansas IMO.

It’s amazing to me that the teams they beat that aren’t good enough mostly come from a conference the ACC should merge with to stay relevant. Or that’s what I keep hearing.

I did not and do not want Deion as GT's coach but he has done a fantastic job at Colorado in a swirl of chaos.

The Deion experiment has worked so far. Gotta give credit where it's due.

Shedeur is an extremely talented player. He is an excellent QB who will very likely be a starting NFL QB. He is surrounded by talented receivers. Hunter and Horn are also going to the NFL. There may be others.

The rest of the team has improved dramatically over what Sanders inherited and they have improved in fairly short order. Every position on the team has improved both from a talent stand point and a performance stand point. You gotta give the coaching staff a lot of credit for that.

All of these improvements have come at a cost. College football is now 100% a professional sport. The athletes are brought in to a "school" 100% based on talent. It's a new and very different game and it's all on the table.

At some point someone is going to ask about the actual "academics" these professional athletes are involved with. But it's obvious no one really gives a öööö about that right now.

I expected the tactics Deion has employed to blow up on him. A program based entirely on selfishness. It remains to be seen what happens when those future NFL players leave and who wants to come in behind them. It remains to be seen how long Deion will stick around and how the program will perform when his kids leave. I expect the experiment to be over at that point but my expectations haven't been what has happened so far.

In the mean time, he's selling tickets, getting nauseating amounts of media coverage, making öööö tonnes of money, and winning more football games than Colorado is accustomed to.

And I am still glad he didn't come to Tech.

Before getting boatraced by Ole Miss or someone similar to what UGAg did to TCU several years ago.

Now they have the same amount as us..

They still have zero wins over teams who have finished with a winning record. That has been said how many times at this point?

But wow…..They beat mighty Cincy with Satterfield who was going to get fired at UofL before bolting and likely will be gone at seasons end from Cincy.

I have said since last year when they beat mighty TCU, wait until the season plays out to see who they beat with a winning record. Answer was 0. Just like GT beating fake #10 FSU this year, and people whining in week 1 why GT wasn’t ranked. There’s a reason why….1. Preseason polls mean nothing. 2. FSU has proven to be awful as we enter November.

Go look at how many “preseason Top 25” teams are no longer ranked as of today when the polls are released. 11.

People have criticized Duke’s schedule going into the SMU game last night, Colorado’s isn’t much better.

So Colorado will likely go 8-4. That team loses all the playmakers off the offense next year, and replaces them with who? Using the Portal to plug & play skill position on offense doesn’t seem to work out too well. Ask FSU.

So who is waiting to come in and fill Shadeur, Hunter, etc shoes next year?

I replied to your post. it said what it said.
And I’ve been very clear with my posts on what I mean by teams with winning records. It’s beating teams who finish with winning records. That applies to EVERY team, including GT. Been pretty clear with how I look at Polls throughout this and other threads. They mean nothing until the season plays out. So I judge teams based on their final W/L record.

So I’ll give you another example. Page #132.
Still haven’t beaten 1 team that finished with a winning record. Gloating over beating Gus? lol Wow…..

But by all means, celebrate that win over mighty 5-3 Cincy.

But what exactly is your point? Just that they are not world beaters? No one is saying they are national championship material or the best team in the country.

They went 4-8 in 2021, then 1-11 in 2022 and were considered to be one of the worst teams in college football. Now, in Deion's second season, they are 6-2. Sure, maybe those 6 wins came against a soft schedule, but who cares? When you start from 1-11, all you want is wins. Deion's getting them as well as selling out the stadium every Saturday.

6-2 is a great record for them regardless of schedule; looking back to the beginning of the season you predicted they'd only go 5-7 in this thread. I don't know what the future holds, but right now I don't see how you can give the Deion hire anything but an A. They went from laughingstock and nothing but losses to relevance, wins, and money.

Even if Deion were to leave after this season they'd still be in a much better place than they were when he got there while the fans got to have a ton of fun and their best season in recent memory.
